Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Comas.
Michele, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business in 2014. I provide a stress-free pet care business. I range from grooming, boarding, training, pet massage, nutrition, and sitting and everything in between… Ibalso help in rescuing animals, as well.
I worked in the corporate sector for 28 years until 2013. In 2012, I was assaulted at work and my entire foundation of who I was and where I was going came to a halt. I sued the person and company and won. At that time, I had to focus on where I was going and how I was going to get there. After a lot of thought and the decision to follow a passion I have had since I was little seemed like the only logical choice.
Not only is my work a passion it is my therapy. I connect with animals and their let parents on a level that helps them understand and communicate with their pets.
It is a physically demanding job, but one I love. And adore.
Has it been a smooth road?
There are always struggles but mostly financial. I never have a dog I don’t love… Or any other animal. I also do some mobile grooming and provide transportation for persons whom are elderly or not capable of bringing their pets. Recently car issues have been a struggle.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I board tea in groom pets. I have had as many as 10 dogs here at one time. Cage free. I do not mingle my boarding dogs with my grooming dogs. When I’m grooming, I only have one client’s dogs here and all my attention is focused on that dog. You don’t double book so I develop a close relationship with that pet… And ultimately, the owner. This is a proven win -win for everyone
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes. We are pro-pet. We have dog friendly malls, restaurants, parks and more.
