Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Hang.
Hi Monica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
LunaLuxe began as a dream rooted in motherhood, creativity, and the desire to reclaim my sense of self. After the birth of my second child, I found myself yearning for something that was mine—something that allowed me to express who I was beyond being a mother. That spark led me to start creating meaningful jewelry pieces from a small corner of my home.
Inspired by my daughter Luna, LunaLuxe was born—an elegant, feminine brand grounded in connection, intentionality, and everyday luxury. What started with pop-up events and permanent jewelry has grown into a collection that includes handmade freshwater pearl pieces and natural gemstones.
Today, LunaLuxe is more than a jewelry brand. It’s a labor of love and a growing community. I get to meet incredible people, create unforgettable moments through permanent jewelry experiences, and give back through causes close to my heart. With every piece, I hope to pass on a little bit of beauty, strength, and story—just like the one I’m still writing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. Navigating the world of pop-up markets was one of the first major challenges—I had very little guidance starting out, so figuring out which events were a good fit and which weren’t was a lot of trial and error.
When I first started offering permanent jewelry, the learning curve was steep. The technique was harder than I expected, and there were moments I doubted whether I’d ever be good at it. I really struggled in the beginning.
Emotionally, it was tough too. I had to learn how to show up for myself in a new way. My first month of pop-ups, I leaned on friends and family to be there with me because I was so nervous. I had no idea what to expect, and my hands would literally shake while working with customers. It was all so new and outside of my comfort zone.
But every challenge taught me something—and little by little, I grew more confident and found my rhythm.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
LunaLuxe is more than just jewelry—it’s about connection, intention, and everyday luxury.
We specialize in permanent jewelry and handcrafted pieces using freshwater pearls, and natural gemstones like jade, malachite, and turquoise. Every piece is designed to be worn daily and exudes timelessness.
We’re best known for creating memorable pop-up and private permanent jewelry experiences across Southern California. Whether it’s a spontaneous bestie date or a celebration like a birthday, bachelorette, or bridal shower, I love being part of those beautiful, joy-filled moments.
What sets LunaLuxe apart is the personal touch behind every detail. I started this business as a mother of two with a dream and no roadmap—every piece, every weld, every customer interaction is infused with heart. I’m proud of the way LunaLuxe has grown organically through real connections and community support.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the trust people place in me to mark their special memories. I don’t take that lightly. I want readers to know that at LunaLuxe, you’re not just buying jewelry—you’re investing in something intentional, beautiful, and made to last.
Whether you’re looking for a meaningful gift, celebrating a milestone, or just want to treat yourself, LunaLuxe offers wearable pieces that tell your story.
How do you think about happiness?
Creating meaningful connections through my work brings me so much joy. There’s something incredibly special about helping someone choose a piece that marks a milestone—whether it’s friendship, love, or a moment of self-celebration. I get to witness those real, emotional moments up close, and that never gets old.
On a personal level, building LunaLuxe has given me a sense of purpose outside of motherhood. It makes me happy to know I’m creating something of my own while also showing my kids what it means to dream, take risks, and work hard.
Happiness for me comes from freedom—freedom to be creative, to grow at my own pace, and to connect with people through something as timeless and personal as jewelry.
