Hi Nalleli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My name is Nalleli Enriquez Jackson. I am 35 years old, a wife, mother of 3, and the creator of Cali Wink. A cosmetic line with a mission at heart. A dream that was born 3 years ago. That dream was to give back to the community of San Diego and to give the people of my birthplace, Mexico. At Cali Wink, we are able to achieve this with the profits from purchases made through our online store, as well as the “pop-up” events in our city of San Diego. The profits fund what we call The Cali Wink Project, in which bags with essential groceries are distributed to families in Mexico that are in need. The profits also goes to providing Jerseys and other items needed for the children who participate in sports at our local Recreation Center of Mountain View.
My parents raised me under the values of generosity, kindness, and giving a helping hand. Because you never know how much you can change people’s lives. Giving people hope and a little faith. What started in my hometown of Chiapas, MX, has expanded to other states such as Oaxaca. We are also proud to know that this year we have been able to reach families in South America such as Venezuela, we hope to continue expanding our reach. I am very thankful to be able to use my small platform to bring hope to those in need. We have built a community of over 10,000 followers that have joined us on our mission.
When someone supports our business, we want them to remember that they are exercising their kindness in giving a helping hand. At Cali Wink, we offer a wide selection of beauty products that will accentuate your beauty. But the most important thing is that when you are applying our products, you’ll remember that your purchase went to supporting our youth and helping families in need. In other words, while you are enhancing your beauty, you’re making other parts of the world beautiful too.
3 years ago, I took a leap of faith by opening an online store with only a few items to sell in order to help my family back home with the essentials they needed for their mission. I never imagined that 3 years later I would have a PR team of women to help promote our mission, The Cali Wink Project. That our products would end up on the shelves of a clothing store in downtown New Your City. It hadn’t crossed my mind, even while cheering for the Mountain View Youth Flag Football Team, that I would see the smiles on our children’s faces when they received their brand-new jerseys sponsored by Cali Wink. And to see live on ESPN that our company logo, sewn into the shorts of our local San Diego pro boxer Austin Brooks …was incredibly surprising and AMAZING!
All the wonderful happenings are signs showing us that Cali Wink and its mission have made an impact. And are the reasons why Cali Wink will continue to grow. Remember, don’t just wink…Caliwink!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the greatest challenges I have faced running Cali Wink has been building a team. All of whom believe in our mission and share the same vision of its growth. Finding people who I can have complete confidence in and trust to do their part for our company and its cause.
Another obstacle that has been tough is getting out of my comfort zone. As the creator and face of Cali Wink and The Cali Wink Project, I have had to do things I wouldn’t normally do. For example, having a banner made for our community events with my face on it instead of a model. My husband said to me when we were going through photos of models to use, “Just put your photo on the banner. You’re gorgeous and people need to see the beautiful and amazing woman that is doing something great and empowering.” So, I took that leap and continue to grow with our business.
We’ve been impressed with Cali Wink, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Everything that happens, good or bad, happens for a reason. I have learned to let go and let God handle what I cannot. I have learned that I cannot control all of the chaos, that I can only control myself and react in the right way, and remembering why I am doing this. There have been a few situations that had me wanting to quit, just give it all up. But I am always reminded that I have a mission to help those in need of support. There are families and children that need a helping hand.
