Meet Narvie Madison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Narvie Madison.

Narvie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Just a small town girl with dreams and aspirations of moving out west. I grew up in Alabama and quickly realized at a young age that the mountains were calling me. I had a job in the insurance industry that allowed me to locate anywhere in the US, so I chose Colorado. I still work as an Insurance Professional by day, but when work is done- I become Narviebarbie. My love for adventure but structure has allowed me to market myself effectively through social media and obtain sponsorships. I have met extremely influential people on this journey, who have helped me create this enterprise for myself by just doing what I love.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth ride whatsoever. I moved out west alone and really didn’t know anyone. I had some difficulties personally and professionally but was determined to stay. I grew up in a fairly sheltered home and knew there was so much more out there that I needed to expose myself to in order to grow and evolve. I am a firm believer that you can not be successful unless you are willing to put yourself in uncomfortable situations.

Please tell us about your work.
I am a social media influencer who is determined to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and live life to the fullest each and every single day. It is possible to have a professional career, go to grad school and embark on adventures now in life rather than when you’re retired. My passion is the outdoors and sharing my love for it with others. I am most proud of the great feedback I receive from those who follow me and enjoy my experiences. When someone takes time out of their day to let you know you have inspired them to get outside and explore… that is special.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Going to California every summer to visit my grandparents. I know that is the reason I moved out west and how I fell in love with this part of the country at such a young age.
