Meet Natalia White of Make_me_up_in_out in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia White.

Natalia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started back in Latvia. I was very bad at dancing and asked my mom to sign me for art classes, and that was a perfect choice, did way better there. Slowly I fall in love with colors, textures, shapes and art culture in general. Since I remember myself, I always wanted to stand out and be/look different. (So in High school I looked like a clown lol)

For my academic program, I chose the sculpting program and learned that I hate when my hands are dirty and dry all the time. So here I am now, sculpting pretty faces and adding some colors in people’s lives (clean hands, lol). Still learning and trying to get into the makeup industry. Bouncing between fashion/creative looks and bridal beauty.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think a smooth road is a myth. I haven’t reached my destination yet but definitely enjoying the ride. Confidence and self-motivation is the key and biggest struggle at the same time.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a makeup artist. Love To create editorial/fashion looks for photoshoots and magazines. Enjoying working with different photographers on concepts and setups, brainstorming is a big part of our creative process. I believe that good artist has to be able to create an abstract piece as good as fine art one. Therefore now I am focusing on bridal and beauty makeup looks now. I am still trying to be different and stand out.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The feedback, I guess. Once you found your target costumers and start to receive positive feedback, you know you are on the right track. However, it is never-ending path. Learn, give, repeat!
