Meet Natalie Hill of Delicate Stationery & Invitations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Hill.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Delicate came to life in Katy, Texas. Stationery and personalization is a big part of the south. I started creating from home and soon saw the opportunity to open a boutique shop. Our store soon became a local shop for people who had a love of paper and wanted to work with a designer in person. Bringing the business to San Diego is a dream come true. I have now transitioned to an online presence and I love working with customers to take their vision and create something they fall in love with.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, starting a new business comes with a learning curve. Blending the creative side with the business side was the biggest struggle. Being creative is so much easier and much more fun. Meeting customers’ expectations was always the focus.

Please tell us about Delicate Stationery & Invitations.
The personalization of creating a one of a kind piece is what we became known for. Customers can sit down at the computer and we can create together. Whether it is picking a font or choosing the right color combination, customers are able to see the evolution of their design. We also don’t limit the revisions. I believe we keep working until it’s perfect, even if we have to start over from scratch.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
My proudest moments are the opening day of the boutique in Katy and the day we closed. To look at the relationships and memories we had with our customers. We were a part of some of the biggest moments in their lives; weddings, funerals, birthday parties and thoughtful gift giving. We moved to California in support of our active military responsibility as a family. The military gives us the opportunity move around the country and I love the part where I get to discover the magic of new beginnings.
