Today we’d like to introduce you to Neil Denaut.
Neil, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started helping others to change their lives with Fitness 18 years ago. My experiences as a personal trainer influenced my continuing education around corrective exercise strategies. I studied, mentored, and used my education to accelerate the physical progress of my clients. I had about an 80% success rate helping them overcome injury. That was until I met one of my greatest mentors, Carla McEwan (flexible anatomy/McKinney, TX).
Carla introduced me to the ground breaking principles of resistance stretching and it blew my mind! She was able to correct my stuck ac/shoulder joint in 90 minutes for good! At that moment I knew that she was the teacher I was looking for. This was in 2010.
Fast forward to 2014. It had always been my goal to elevate the Fitness professionals’ IMPACT when it came to corrective exercise. I explored several paths that could help me to grow my work and I ultimately answered a calling.
I had a reoccurring dream that I was missing my plane to San Diego weekly for about 4 years. My wife and I decided as a family that San Diego was where we should be.
So, we packed up and I drove across the country twice from NY to start our new life here. The rest has been nothing short of magical.
I began working full time with major injuries and physically limited people such as lower backs, other joint injuries, and more specifically Parkinson’s disease. Those results were mind blowing and IMO unprecedented in my line of work.
Today, nearly 3.5 years later I have helped over 300 San Diegans alone to return to their lives injury free.
The next step is teaching this work what I call, “the muscular recalibration system,” throughout the Health and Fitness industry all while doing my best to help others.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey was filled with nearly every set back possible from ugly work divorces (with other companies), financial setbacks, to just plain dead ends. I basically had every obstacle stand in my way, including the ones that the industry has. For 5 years in a row, the biggest health and fitness organizations have rejected my lecture. This lecture is the key to ending pain however, because it is not a “trend” or widely understood, it seems that “other” topics are more desired…
I still push past obstacles every day and will never stop because sharing this work is my destiny. It has thickened my skin and strengthened my passion for what I do. The world needs this work and I’m going to bring it to them.
Muscle Therapy San Diego – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a problem solver. I take people with injuries back from peril and restore them to strong. This work provides results up to 10xs faster than traditional approaches.
I have recently expanded my company and joined Xplicit Fitness in Mission Valley, to include the exercise programs that will continue our clients’ growth into their newly restored body.
I also have begun mentoring students from SDSU and also hold quarterly workshops. We have gone as.far as Shanghai China to teach this work.
Our goal is to have multiple practitioners and expert training programs
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every day I am proud of, but I’d saying presenting this work in China for the 1st time ever would be it thus far.
