Meet Nicole Abejon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Abejon.

Hi Nicole, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My husband and I are known to friends and family as the “eternal newlyweds.” I take great pride in our strong marriage, and when my two best friends got engaged to my husband’s two best friends, we were both honored to be a part of their big days. Their weddings, only a few months apart, included many parties and events. It was tough to financially balance all the fun events but still find meaningful gifts for our closest friends. So, I got to DIYing. I personalized hangers and boxes for them, and their friends and families insisted that I sell them. Thinking I had no chance of turning this hobby of mine into anything, I started my shop, only to be surprised. Not only was I successful, but I have finally found my calling. I love the industry I am in, and I love the people I work with. Getting an email from a bride who is thrilled with her order is priceless to me. It has brought my husband and I closer, it has given me courage and strength, and it has made our lives fuller. We have been blessed, and we are grateful for it. We show our gratitude by only giving our clients the best service and products.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road; throughout the 13 years I’ve had this business, we’ve run into various types of hurdles and challenges. Figuring out the best way to set up our business took a lot of trail and error. Setting up proper taxes, insurance, and corporate documents was very tricky. Balancing that personal life and business life has always been a struggle of mine. Especially now that I have two daughters. It always weighs heavy on my mind, and I’m constantly reevaluating my processes to see where I can improve to be available to both sides more. I have, however, learned that it will never be 50/50, and I’m learning to be okay with that.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own Delovely Details, Inc., and I specialize in elevating the important life moments, milestone celebrations, and intimate occasions in life with custom and uniquely designed items.

I’m proud that throughout these years of being an entrepreneur, I have stuck to my solid business practices of offering the highest quality of products and customer service. I have been determined to stick to my professionalism and integrity through all the different highs and lows. I am proud that I have made lifelong relationships with people in my industry, and I am determined to constantly lift them all up and be a source of encouragement.

I feel like my personal relationship sets me apart from others. When someone makes an inquiry with me, it is just with me. My customer’s wedding, birthday, bridal shower, or baby shower become partly mine too. I want to give everyone the best, and it’s personal to me to make sure I help celebrate these momentous moments with you. When you order from Delovely Details, it’s me from the first email you get to the packaging of the order, to my daughter (she’s 2), or me putting it in the mailbox to you. It’s personal through and through.

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love to work with new friends and collaborate! In the event industry, styled shoots are one way we can work with other planners, photographers, etc., and get to know each other a bit better. We are almost always down to work on a styled shoot. Reach out to us; email is always best to see if we are taking on any styled shoots or your collaboration idea!

There are so many easy ways to support a small business like mine. Of course, purchasing from our business is super helpful, but there are tons of free ways to help support as well. Word of mouth, sharing our social media posts, liking, commenting are great as well! Words of encouragement, checking in during our busy seasons, and helping us celebrate our triumphs are all ways to be there for your entrepreneur friends.
