Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Crocker.
Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
From a young age, I have been enamored with the power of marketing. As early as 5th grade, my teacher recognized this passion and gave me an opportunity to express it – asking me to create a trifold for an imaginary vacation with my family.
This creative outlet blossomed into something even greater when reaching 6th grade and began exercising my writing skills- winning several contests in school!
By high school I had found another great way to hone these skills by working on the annual yearbook committee; all providing valuable lessons that inspired future endeavors.
Once I reached the age to begin my career, I was introduced to incredible mentors to help me through my journey to master sales, marketing, and advertising.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My career journey didn’t start in the way I expected. At 18, I was a newbie to office life and had no idea what path my future would take me down – but that changed when joined a window and door company! It became clear very quickly that construction was something special for me; spending an exciting 10 years mastering B2B sales as one of few female professionals working within this male-dominated industry.
Little did I know though, changes were being put into motion after 2008’s financial crisis – whereupon searching outside of construction led me towards advertising: introducing myself to a completely different landscape with fresh challenges ahead!
When I least expected it, an amazing opportunity was presented to me that would prove to be a game-changer. Joining forces with my significant other and helping him launch his home improvement business gave me the perfect platform from which to grow – honing my B2C marketing skills in service industries along the way! It took some twists and turns but ultimately led me down a path of expertise within this very rewarding field.

What do you think about happiness?
I love interacting with my clients when we are discussing strategy options and they are learning new tips and tricks. Information gathering and developing creative strategies is a favorite pastime of mine and I love sharing the information I have found, especially if it will help a client build their business.
Events are fun for me, so I try to put on one large event every year AND I love creative campaigns – once we even launched a television show as a campaign for one of our clients – that was a hoot!
