Today we’d like to introduce you to Noemi Garcia.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My Name is Noemi Garcia and I am the owner, creator and designer of Trendee Flowers.
My Floral business officially began in 2009 after many years of volunteering my talent for family weddings and organizing my friend’s celebration events. I was the friend everyone called to organize and decorate a party. I love creating a beautiful event from a blank canvas and making the day as special as possible. After a few weddings, I realized I had a passion for florals but didn’t know how to approach or begin the process of building a business. So I decided to focus on raising my family. Before I knew it I had 5 daughters.
Finally, it came to past that I was asked to do florals for a small event/wedding so I poured out all my creativity I had pushed aside for several years. After that event, I realized this was my calling and I started Trendee Flowers. Trendee Flowers is still flourishing and growing in the floral industry as well as the wedding industry, becoming a local sought out floral company in the San Diego community. Having the opportunity to create and design many lavish floral events and weddings throughout California.
Has it been a smooth road?
As any business, we think it’s going to be great and all will go smoothly, but then you hit a road bump and reality smacks you right in the face. One event I will never forget is back in 2010 when I was eager to get my business name out there and was willing to do anything. So I was asked to promote my business in a local newspaper (when those were popular) during Valentines Day and in trade, they would promote Trendee Flowers and they would receive payment for every arrangement purchased (40%).
So I thought I ran the numbers correctly, and I signed away and agreed to all the terms. Well, to say the least, I lost over $ 1000. Realizing my cost was not included in the total, from product/supplies and labor & delivery cost and of course all the customers who “lost their arrangement”. This for me was a real eye-opener on how to do business with running numbers, logistics and paying myself every time. Which many forget to do when building a business brand.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Trendee Flowers – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Trendee Flowers is not just a floral shop, we provide services to cover all aspects of your event. We can coordinate and decorate your event making it easy for our clients to book only one vendor and we handle everything. Our eye for detail and all things floral we create an experience for each of our events. Our goal is to provide our clients with the desired resources and knowledge for their event. Making it a one-stop shop experience for them.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Who doesn’t love San Diego, the finest city with the best weather? It’s the perfect destination, with having the best of both worlds. Traveling down south and experience everything the culture has to offer. To traveling a few hours North to experience the cold snowy weather in our mountains. It hard to dislike a beautiful city we live in.
