Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Alexander.
Paige, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the hospitality industry at an early age. Worked as a bartender for many events and even went to a certificate program at USD for event and meeting management. I have always done events on the side of my normal 9-5. Coming into this project, I was already working as a Project Manager in the advertising/marketing realm. Taking the skills I learned over my professional career in both project management and the event industry, I was able to manage the biggest project I have done to date, The Fowler House. The house started as a family home designed and built by the family. The house had so much love seeping through the walls that when the house became an empty nest, the owners started thinking about what they could do to transform the love into a place others could enjoy. The Fowler House started as a mimosa driven conversation over a family brunch, and what seemed like a silly conversation soon became a reality. Fast forward two years, lots of sweat, tears, and love we are proud to announce The Fowler House is officially open for business as of April 2019.
Co-Owner, Paige Alexander, feels so strongly about how much love this place offers that she and her fiancé will be the first official wedding at the venue. The Fowler House is in the business of helping people celebrate their love. This house meant so much to the family over the years, that being able to share with others is a dream come true.
Has it been a smooth road?
Making our family home an event space has been one of the hardest/rewarding projects I have worked on. Having three co-owners definitely makes for an interesting experience when it comes to decision making. A lot of compromise and sacrifices have been made by all three of us to bring this to fruition. We also have had a challenge making sure the space stays preserved to all the wildlife that have called this home for decades. One of the best parts about The Fowler House is its natural beauty, and the wildlife surrounding us adds to that.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Fowler House story. Tell us more about the business.
The Fowler House is a wedding/event space. We specialize in weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and intimate celebrations of all kinds. At The Fowler House, we believe that whatever you are celebrating it should be done your way! This hidden gem is reminiscent of a coastal Hampton’s style property; the venue sits on a little over eight acres of land and hosts multiple location options for your next event. From the South Garden Lawn to The Fowler Veranda, this venue has everything you would need to host your dream event. The venue features a lush olive grove, mature trees, beautiful roses and foliage that make for a gorgeous background without any effort. What sets The Fowler House apart from other venues is the nature surrounding it and the seclusion you feel when you are on the property. There is a sense of calm that this venue brings. We also are developing a fully equipped yurt area in our olive grove, so guests have the option to spend the night under the stars!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the venue industry booming within the next couple of years. With options like The Fowler House, people will lean more towards intimate settings rather than a stuffy hotel ballroom. People want events that they can put their personal touch on and places that feel familiar.
