Meet Patty Graham of PG Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Graham.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child and in high school, I always played sports but I never knew how much of that established me as a person.

After having kids, so much gets put to the wayside, but I would always try to fit exercise in. It was sporadic though. Also, I never was educated on how valuable your nutrition was. But, I found once my kids were older, how much fitness helped me as an individual.

There really are ways to work around challenges and be successful. I just never knew.

My goal when I decided to become certified as a trainer, is to help others understand how they can be successful as well.

I started with boot camps on the beach and slowly started acquiring clients. So many things have branched out by now. I work really diligently to help my clients with fitting exercise and nutrition into their everyday lives.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say, the struggles of being in the fitness industry can be challenging.

I never worked in a box gym, so it was much more difficult and slower to acquire clients and to have space to train them.

I started boot camp with literally one person.

I had to learn how to run business, market myself and train all by myself. It can be overwhelming at times. Also, fitness is an ebb and flow. The times where individuals are more or less motivation is always changing.

Tell us more about your work.
I am independent in my business. I train out of my home. Many of my clients prefer that to a gym. They can often be intimidated by the gym atmosphere.

I specialize in women’s fitness. Although I have men and youth clients as well. I create custom workouts and guide clients through their nutrition for realistic situations.

I am most proud that I have created and established great relationships with the clients over the years. Much of what we do is very personal.

What sets me apart I think, is that we are individual and in it together. Consideration of health conditions, life situations, and long term habits make it a better environment for everyone.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There are so many it is hard to choose. My clients have so many fantastic stories due to training!

But, I am so proud of how many people were voting for the Ms. Health and Fitness competition.

Not because I was going far in the competition, but because of the force of the people behind it!

What it meant to me, was I am helping people, creating relationships and providing a value that they believe in.

It’s so amazing how much support I received from everyone. I still get emotional over it.

I have worked with Patty as a client for over a year and I absolutely love her. She is genuinely kind. Finding words of motivation that are encouraging to me specifically comes with ease for Patty. I say that because if she were just a one size fits all kind of coach and trainer her responses would feel canned, Patty is anything but canned. I have lost over 25 lbs. while training with her and my abilities have improved by 90%. When I first began kickboxing I couldn’t even do 5 push-ups and forget about a roundhouse. I’d kick the bag and stumble backwards each time. Now I’m moving through the sets with intent and getting the best workouts of my life! Thank you Patty Dawn Graham for being you and always there for me. 🥊🥊
