Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulette Khoury and Maria Elsom.
Paulette and Maria, please share your story with us.
I helped my sister make her wedding gown 20 years ago and she helped me make mine six years ago. In between, we made gowns for family, friends and eventually clients. We’ve seen many changes in the bridal world and five years ago we decided to halt our custom design business and open our own bridal boutique where we house 14 designers and carry over 300 dresses to choose from.
Has it been a smooth road?
We’re blessed to have supportive husbands and family and lucky we’ve always had each other to lean on. The biggest challenge for us was finding the right place to have our store. We grew up in north county San Diego and wanted to make sure we stayed in the area. It took us over a year, but we found the perfect place, down the street from our parent’s house! 🙂
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Archive Bridal – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We sell wedding gowns. We offer a range of different styles that cater to the eclectic style of San Diego. We have dresses perfect for the beach, winery, ballroom and everything in between. We’re also known for our sewing studio- yes we’re still making custom gowns – and we also make sure all our brides walk down the aisle in perfectly fitted gowns so our alteration studio has made us sought after. We also have the largest selection of bridal accessories so brides can enjoy our shopping for cute wedding-related merchandise, jewelry and bridal lingerie.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the people here, everyone is so friendly and happy. You always appreciate after you come home from traveling around.
The least I’d have to say is the 5 freeway during traffic.
