Today we’d like to introduce you to Questhaven.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We have been playing music together since sophomore year of high school. We did everything from Green Day covers to just jamming for the fun of it. Once we realized that we had genuine chemistry, we began writing some of our own songs and eventually started going by the name of Questhaven, the name of the woods close to where the three of us grew up.
We started playing shows and making friends, leading to us playing more shows and making more friends. Eventually, we found our way into the tight-knit community of artists and musicians that have given us unbelievable amounts of support. This pushed us to work hard and get our album out, which was released about two months ago. It has been well perceived and our shows since it’s release have been the best we have played. The decade of the haven has begun.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being in a band is like being married to two other dudes and for us, we’ve known these dudes since we were kids. The glue that holds this marriage together is the sweet sound of the Haven. There have been a lot of obstacles but in the end we all love to play music more than anything. It’s always worth it in the end.
We’d love to hear more about your band.
I would say we are known for our live energy and bringing together an extremely diverse group of young people. It could be summarized by this quote: “I’ve never seen so many different kinds people in a mosh pit before” (Jake Firestone 2020). I think the kind of music we play just makes people wanna move and people are attracted to that.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Absolutely has to be finishing and releasing our debut album “Los Bandoleros” this year. It took us over a year to make it and we’re super proud of the outcome. It was a dream I think all of us have had and it felt really good to do it.
