Meet Rebecca Hayes of e3 Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Hayes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been passionate about life, and I truly love being there for others. My dad was an entrepreneur, and my mom was a classroom teacher. Given these professions along with my caring nature, I love to jump into people based in situations where help is needed. I considered both nursing and education because of my desire to give. The notion of special education came to mind when I began to assist students, who needed added reinforcement, in my mom’s classroom. It started with general tutoring.

And eventually, my support led to working closely with teachers and parents, putting the bigger pieces together for these families. I went to college and received my teaching credential with a focus in special education. When I was just 24 years old, I wanted to create a community hub where I could assist families in education and wellness. My work has been growing and evolving ever since.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My first business began fourteen years ago with a business partner, and it was a great way to learn and grow given my rather young age. After some time, she and I discovered that we had a different focus, and we parted ways. Since starting e3 Consulting seven years ago, I am able to wholeheartedly create the vision I have for our community’s families.

I would define myself as someone that is extremely humble and truly dedicated. These characteristics are what have carried me, for, as a business owner, I am constantly bobbing and weaving in order to best support my teachers and clients.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the e3 Consulting story. Tell us more about the business.
Our mission is to provide a community touch-base that embraces a holistic approach in an active effort of promoting extensive academic, social, emotional, and physical enrichment for students in collaboration with their families, schools, and other supportive professionals. We have two locations, Del Mar and Encinitas.

My teachers and I are extremely passionate about what we provide for our families. We have won the Best of North Coast award, for now, four years in a row!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Wow… This is a tough one. I guess I’m not a believer of luck, but rather karma. When we are consistent in our true character, giving and considering others, life will then provide us with good experiences.
