Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca and Marben Jimenez.
Rebecca and Marben, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I would bake treats for family and friends and often get asked, “do you sell these?”
Finally, after several years, my husband convinced me to take my baking to the next level and I told him, “Fine! I’ll do the baking, but you do everything else.” He stuck to his word and did all the necessary paperwork to get us started as an official business.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s not always smooth sailing. We both have a 9-5 and often finish our days with long nights of baking. My husband has had to learn the recipes and we now bake together. What use to feel like another job is now extra quality time that we both enjoy.

Becca’s Treats is a home based bakery run and operated by my husband and I. We are a licensed CFO (cottage food operations) and bake from our own home kitchen. We specialize in desserts and we are known for our Pecan Tarts, Apple Pie Tarts, and Butter Mochi. We are most proud of how far we have gotten.
Starting from a passion of baking for family and friends to selling our treats in local restaurants. What sets us apart from others is our Pecan Tarts are a recipe that brings back childhood memories.
We are often told. “My mom use to make her’s just like this!” or “My grandma’s taste just like these!” Also, our crust is never frozen and always fresh.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, San Diego is a great place to start a bakery. We highly recommend it! San Diego is full of foodies who are looking for the next best thing to eat.
