Today we’d like to introduce you to Reggie and Rhianna White.
Reggie and Rhianna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We own a real estate investment company so when we saw what looked like a “for rent’ sign outside of a building in our neighborhood we called to inquire about their rent rates and scope out the competition. The building turned out to be for sale and adorable so we jumped at the opportunity to buy it!
In the process of getting it ready to rent out and looking at its location the neighborhood, we realized that it would be a great place to have our family stay when they came to visit us and our new babies. We started to ask around and it seemed that everyone in the neighborhood had friends and family to have visited but no good guest accommodations and we decided that a short-term guest rental was what needed to be there.
After a fun and hectic few months of designing, stocking and renovations we opened our doors to our community and felt welcomed by everyone!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been very lucky in setting up this business. In many ways, the property was already ideal for this type of business and the neighborhood has been very supportive and open to it. Most of our guests are connected to the neighborhood and have been so much fun to meet and host!

We are a husband and wife team. We started a real estate investment and management company five years ago and The Kensington Guesthouse is a spin-off of that. Kensington Guesthouse opened three years ago as a short-term furnished rental. We offer a fully stocked home away from home to guests for a visit.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The plans for the future of The Kensington Guesthouse are fairly simple: to continue to provide a warm and welcoming place for people to stay, and to find ways to add additional amenities and comforts.
