Meet Reno Prezio of Rinse Salon in North county

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reno Prezio.

Reno, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been doing hair for nearly 20 years. Over the years I’ve entered many competitions.

These competitions were either European or in Canada. I’ve always done well in photo competitions. I’m a painter and I especially love to draw. So these photos and competitions were just an extension of my hearing over the years I’ve entered many competitions. These competitions were either European or in Canada. I’ve always done well in photo competitions. I’m a painter and I especially love to draw. So these photos and competitions are just an extension of my art. MyTime and I have always thought outside the box. The more creative our idea the better for us.

MyTime and I have always thought outside the box. The more creative our idea the better for us. I immigrated here 11 years ago. So my goal was to win the biggest competition in North America NAHA ( North American hairdresser award). The first year of achieving my license in the US I was nominated for this award. I never one so I left a sour taste in my mouth.

I’ve entered two years back to back and I want to be nominated. And finally, the third year that I entered I was nominated into 2 categories. And I’m happy to say, on July 29th with the amazing team that I have and beautiful models I became a 2018 north American hairdresser award winner.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never a smooth road. When I immigrated to the US I didn’t have an American license.

So I had to do 1600hrs of school, pay 30,000$ to be apart of an industry That I’ve done so well in, in other countries. I needed to step back to move forward. To me, it was always going to be worth it though. I always had goals and I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rinse salon story. Tell us more about the business.
I do hair. I take clients at Rinse Salon in Northpark. I love to interact with people, build relationships and change peoples lives for the better. There is nothing better than a smile on someone’s face as they leave feeling beautiful.

I also travel and enter students that are in hair school and two competitions. They do a two-day class with me and have a photo shoot with Natasha Gerschon. Over the years we’ve had over 25 winners in various Competitions. I love creating winners. I’d love one student think outside the box. When I can get into their creative space and bring what they have in their minds into a photo shoot

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in setting goals and working hard to achieve them. I do not leave anything to chance. If you want something you have to go for it. I never think of what could go wrong, I only think of what could go right.
