Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Garcia.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After being raised in a family of alcoholics and drug addicts, I failed high school and two colleges due to a learning disability. I joined the Air Force and finally had structure (and food). I was able to complete my education, learned about leadership and teamwork and moved to my dream city, San Diego.
I taught high school and was a Professor of Business after completing my Doctorate in Education. Three years ago, I decided to go into business for myself as a high-end Business Strategist. I founded a magazine called SHIFT Advanced Life Design and helped clients achieve interviews, visibility and create compelling social media.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My mom was an alcoholic and was addicted to crack for a year to a point where she had to give me away to relatives while she got clean.
Last year, I volunteered for a combat support deployment and lost her to cancer halfway through. I came back, had a sleep-deprived nervous breakdown and walked out of my day job.
Its never been smooth or easy. But I’m getting better at managing challenges.

Warrior Strategist Consulting is based on organic business growth and connection-based business. I learned about this from my coach, San Diego’s own Davide DiGiorgio. I’ve known for detail based business analysis that reviews sales, the sales process, visibility, how the audience views you, and what needs to be done to supercharge your company. I’m proud that EVERY client I have had has either created a huge event or some achievement that helped them financially. The thing that sets me apart is the level of customization to each client.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is about balance and freedom in life. I don’t need a million dollars, I am really happy with consistent business growth, the ability to get a fish taco at 2 pm on a Thursday and doing something that I ABSOLUTELY love.
