Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Carroll.

Robert, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I served 20 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (Medic) and a Physical Therapy Technician. During my training for Physical Therapy, I was introduced briefly to the world of massage and realized I enjoyed it and so did my patients. After my retirement, I wanted to pursue a new career so I attended the Mueller College of Holistic Studies and the International College of Holistic Studies in San Diego and received my Holistic Health Practitioner in Integrated Bodywork Certifications with a concentration in Nutrition and Herbology. I am a Certified Massage Therapist by the California Massage Therapy Council. I provide massage therapy to a variety of clients in the Southern California area. I specialize in both Eastern and Western Massage modalities, and Aromatherapy.

Has it been a smooth road?
As any Massage Therapist will say it has not been an easy road for me. There’s a lot of competition out there not to mention the big corporations. I started out as a traveling massage therapist for 2 years. I had been searching around for spaces to rent but the rent is very expensive even for a small room that barely fits your table, client, and yourself. Finally, in June of 2017, my friend made an offer I could not refuse. She had a room available to rent inside her salon in the heart of North Park.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a Holistic Health Practitioner. I work with clients who are seeking natural relief from their illnesses via massage, energy work, or herbal remedies. I specialize in Therapeutic massage, Synergistic massage, Reiki energy treatments, Herbal remedies, and Holistic nutrition. What sets me apart is that I have many modalities to help my clients with their individual needs. I am not choreographed in the modalities I provide and I treat each of my clients as an individual and not a number. With my 20 years of medical background ten of which as a Physical Therapy Tech. I have an extensive background with the Musculoskeletal system and rehabilitation.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel San Diego is a perfect place for Therapist like me because of the diversity and people who are seeking a more holistic lifestyle. For anyone just starting it will be a rough journey but just remember if you put your heart into it ALL is coming.
