Meet Roger Blunt of Prestige Movers CA in San Marcos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roger Blunt.

Roger, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I could remember I always wanted to have my own business helping others. A friend of mine from Houston came to visit me in San Diego and told me about the moving company he had in Texas and how good it was doing. That conversation we had peaked my interest because it was in line with me providing a service to help others in need. Fast forward to now I own Prestige Movers California. It’s a family owned company that is run by my wife Porschia and I. We started a few years ago with the desire to provide top tier service at a great price. We have grown our company to 15 employees and three trucks. We are a debt free company and own all of our trucks that are on the road today. This business has allowed my wife and me to do what most parents dream of, and that is to be able to be present in our kid’s life. We enjoy what we do and the people we have the opportunity to meet and serve.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. The struggles we faced, in the beginning, was getting jobs consistently and purchasing our first truck. We used to do our moves in rental trucks for the first eight months before we saved enough money to purchase our first truck.

Tell us about your company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
Prestige Movers is a premium moving company that provides local and long distance moves. We provide full service moving services like packing, loading/unloading, and furniture assembly/disassembly. We specialize in dedicated trucks and drivers for our long distance service. We are most proud of the fact we have had the opportunity to work for ET (Entertainment Tonight) at Comic-Con. We got hired to break down the entire set and load it into the production truck. The one thing that sets us apart is our passion for helping others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future are continuing to grow our fleet and opening a storage space to better serve our clients.
