Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Anderson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I recently retired from a 28 year Navy Special Operations career in March 2021, where I was a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operator and knew I wanted to be in an industry that kept me on and near the water. I have always loved being on the water ever since I was little and had a huge interest in boats. As I was preparing to get out, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do, I started working on my USCG Mariners Credential and talking to various people in the marine industry. I also really enjoy going to boat shows and started talking to yacht brokers about their jobs and it seemed to fit me perfect. Being around the water and boats all day, what an awesome combination. So that brings me to where I am now, I have my USCG Captains credential and my Yacht Brokers Certification. I am now a Yacht Broker with Jeff Brown Yachts where I get to sell and drive some of the best boats and yachts in the industry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has definitely had its challenges. The military is all I’ve known since graduating High School. It has been like learning a whole new language and working in the “civilian world” is different, for sure. Team has a different meaning out here than it does in the small specialized units in the military. I am starting to get the hang of it and I have some amazing mentors that help consult me along the way. I have also found an amazing group of individuals that understand Team.

Jeff Brown Yachts is a bespoke brokerage and yacht sales company. We are the dealer for Axopar, Brabus Marine, Pardo Yachts, Sirena Yachts, Pearl Yachts, Hermes Speedster and Y Yachts. As a yacht broker, I specialize in helping my clients buy their dream yacht and sell their current yacht as they move along in their yacht ownership journey. My Captain credentials and experience comes in when my clients are newer yacht owners. I get to help them learn all about their yacht as well as teach them how to drive.
I believe what helps set me apart is my pure passion and commitment to whatever I am a part of. I’m not just a salesperson, I truly want to share my passion for the water and boating with my team and my clients.
It’s hard to say what my favorite boat is. I always find something I like in a boat. If I had to pick a style, it would be high performance with enough room for family and friends.
Whoever I get a chance to work with will get my full and passionate attention.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to continue to grow and develop myself, my family, and my career.
