Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryen Toft.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
This is my first children’s book. Bee A Dreamer is inspired by a vivid dream, and captured my interest in travel and animals as well as promoting self-esteem, children’s well-being, and conservation. My love of bees stems from my fascination with nature, gratitude for our food supply, and desire to see our world grow that was first stimulated by overseas travel years ago. A portion of the proceeds from Bee A Dreamer is given back to benefit bees around the world. I have partnered with Planet Bee Foundation out of San Fran and give back 75% of the proceeds.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was hard to find an illustrator and publisher. It was a year and a half journey getting both sorted out but I am very happy with the outcome. My publisher is the only in the nation that focused on social causes and gives back so it was incredible to get connected to him!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bee A Dreamer – what should we know?
This is my first children’s book and I am so proud to be helping kids, giving back, and saving our bees one book at a time. My goal is to continue my success as an author and keep giving back to our local community too.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Connecting to kids, having a great quality of work produced, giving back to social causes, and working with like-minded schools and professionals.
