Today we’d like to introduce you to Sahar Alnsour.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came to the USA in 1998. I was eighteen years old and newly married. I had my first baby at the age of 19. I did not speak a word of English and I did not know how to drive a car.
Delivering my baby at the hospital was in itself an amazing and memorable experience, but I immediately saw how nice the nurses were that were attending. They were trying their best to communicate with me with the little English that I spoke at the time. The effort these nurses were putting into making me comfortable and supported in their care lit something inside of me. After my experience at the hospital, I had a vision and a dream to be a nurse one day.
Bringing home the baby and being a full time mom, who spoke little English in a new country, I soon realized it would be only stay a dream .… Becoming a nurse would require time, education, patience, and if course language and people skills. I am now a new mother and wife and I do not even know where to start from.
But I was so ambitious and wanted to be a nurse so badly. To make the story short, I will tell you I was one hundred percent focused and driven to enter the medical field. I started the journey by taking ESL classes to strengthen my English language. Then I enrolled in a medical assistant program at a small career college. I then received my AA degree and applied to the nursing program at USCSB and graduated with the BSN Bachelor of Sciences of Nursing.
Yay I made it! During these years of dedication on my education I had my second baby. I then worked as a cardiac nurse for the next five years. I had reached the vision of myself I had in that hospital room with those kind nurses all those years ago. Then I began having more dreams and goals and started a very small aesthetic clinic with a doctor. I had two jobs at that time; cardiac nurse at the hospital, and aesthetic nurse at the small clinic. At home I had two kids and a full social life.
After a few years of meeting those goals I had made for myself career wise, we added a third child to our family to complete my home life. At that time I thought I had it all; kind, supporting husband, with a great marriage life of 17 years, an amazing job as a nurse, and a small business to grow another career and another dream.
All of the sudden, my husband died of a massive heart attack, sudden death. I had no choice but to stand up on my feet and keep going to feed and raise and support my three kids. I followed my dreams again and started SAHAR ALLURE MED SPA in 2018 in Corona, CA. It was a small clinic, but now I am so honored to say it is a very successful practice. I hired two nurses and two receptionists and a medical assistant. People travel from other states to be treated by me. Clients drive hours and wait months to come and see me. I am above and beyond happy and feel proud and accomplished.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not easy at all. There were many challenges: in order and throughout my years.. language barrier. Culture and tradition and stereotyping. Raising healthy and happy children in a newly formed family Maintaining a strong marriage and happy social life. Money. Husband’s death. Raising three kids as a newly single widowed mom Starting my own business. Fear of growing.
All these obstacles and life challenges made me the person I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sahar Allure Med Spa?
I provide cosmetic services, Botox, fillers, laser hair removal, acne and acne scars treatment, hair restoration, anti-aging treatments, skin tightening. My services are optional and people choose to come to me and improve and enhance their look. My goals and what sets me apart from other providers in this field is I choose to do my treatments to enhance and improve my clients look without changing their faces or making them look not like themself, to keep them look subtle and natural and enhance what they have instead of changing what they have. I restore what they lost due to aging, or sickness or stress or weight loss. I restore their confidence by fixing their imperfections and correcting their insecurities. I choose to do cases absolutely free at no charge to help clients who have bell’s palsy condition to help there self steam and I want this to be out there where people are aware of it and they know there is a solution for that problem and they do not have to live with it. Also, I do not feel shy to say no to a client who looks great and they do not need anything done to their face, instead of looking at my client as money and business, I look at them as of how I can help them and change their life to make it better and improved. And restore their confidence level.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
To be successful and have people to trust you on your face is a very hard thing and rewarding feeling. To make it this far was extremely hard and challenging, but that says a lot about how passionate I am about what I do to make the difference and accomplish the change and restore the confidence.
