Meet Samara Smith of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samara Smith.

Hi Samara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely. My path into real estate began in 2019, and interestingly, I didn’t start with the intention of becoming a Realtor. I initially entered the industry because I wanted to be an investor. I was fascinated by wealth-building through property and saw real estate as a powerful vehicle for long-term financial growth.

During that time, I met Anthony Reanue, who played a pivotal role in shaping my direction. Through our conversations, he encouraged me to consider becoming a Realtor, helping me see that I could not only build my own portfolio but also guide others through one of the most important decisions of their lives. That conversation changed everything. I joined the Reanue Home Team and have been with the team ever since.

Since then, my career has evolved in ways I never imagined. I’ve expanded my expertise beyond sales into lending and transaction coordination, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of the entire process from contract to close. That 360-degree perspective allows me to better serve clients and anticipate challenges before they arise.

I’m incredibly proud of the recognition I’ve received along the way. In 2023, I was honored to receive the Realtor of the Year award for medium-sized brokerages in San Diego, presented by the San Diego Association of Realtors. It was a meaningful milestone because it reflected not just production, but professionalism, service, and leadership within the industry.

Every year I’ve been in real estate, my team has been awarded Gold for production, which speaks to the consistency, collaboration, and high standards we maintain.

Most recently, in 2026, I was honored with the LPT Dezzy Award for Best Realtor in the 92026 zip code — a recognition that means a great deal to me because it reflects the trust of the community I serve.

Overall, my journey has been defined by growth, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping people move forward — whether that’s buying their first home, building wealth, or making a strategic transition.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t describe it as a completely smooth road — but I think that’s actually been one of the most valuable parts of my journey.

When I started in real estate in 2019, I was stepping into a highly competitive, performance-driven industry. There’s a steep learning curve, and early on I had to develop not just technical skills, but also confidence, resilience, and emotional endurance. Real estate can be unpredictable — deals fall apart, timelines shift, and you quickly learn that success isn’t just about knowledge, but about mindset and persistence.

Another challenge was wearing multiple hats. As I expanded into lending and transaction coordination, I had to learn how to balance different roles, responsibilities, and expectations. That required strong time management, boundaries, and the ability to shift mentally between very different types of work.

There were also the normal entrepreneurial struggles — navigating inconsistent income cycles, managing stress during slower periods, and staying motivated even when effort didn’t immediately translate into results. Those moments really test your belief in yourself.

But each of those challenges strengthened me. They taught me discipline, adaptability, and how to stay solution-focused under pressure. They also deepened my empathy for clients, because I understand firsthand how stressful and emotional the process can be.

So while it hasn’t always been smooth, every obstacle has contributed to the professional I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in real estate, and honestly, I see my role as much more than just helping people buy or sell homes.

I help people navigate major life moves. A home isn’t just a transaction — it’s security, wealth-building, lifestyle, and sometimes a fresh start. I love being the person who helps make that transition feel exciting instead of overwhelming.

My approach is equal parts strategy and connection. I’m very detail-oriented and solutions-driven, but I also bring a lot of energy and warmth into the experience. Real estate can be stressful, so I pride myself on being someone who keeps things calm, clear, and moving forward — even when challenges pop up.

I’m known for being honest, sharp, and highly attentive. My clients know I’m going to tell them the truth, protect their interests, and think several steps ahead. But they also know they’re going to feel supported, heard, and maybe even have a little fun along the way.

What really sets me apart is how I blend professionalism with personality. I’m serious about results, but I’m also very human in my approach. I build real relationships with my clients — the kind where they feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and trusting my guidance.

I specialize in creating clarity and confidence. Whether someone is buying their first home, making a move-up purchase, or making a big financial decision, I want them to feel empowered, not intimidated.

At the end of the day, I genuinely love what I do. I love the negotiation, the strategy, the psychology of it, and most of all, the moment when everything comes together and my client realizes, “Wow… this is really happening.”

There’s nothing better than being part of that.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is simple: stay consistent and be patient.

Early on, it can feel like you’re working incredibly hard with little to show for it. That’s normal. You’re building foundations — skills, relationships, confidence — even when you can’t see immediate results.

I’d also say: focus on learning, not just closing. Master the contracts, the market, negotiation, and financing. Knowledge creates confidence, and confidence builds trust.

And most importantly, protect your mindset. There will be setbacks, delays, and rejection. Don’t take it personally — take it as part of the process.

If you stay committed, coachable, and keep showing up, success becomes a matter of when, not if.
