Samer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Been in San Diego most of my life, went to elementary school here after my family moved to the states from Syria. Went to Serra High School and then Christian Heritage College in El Cajon. Started my company about 7 years ago to help companies manage their freelancers, gig-economy people. We now have about 10K workers around the world that we manage for companies. We work with companies big and small, but ultimately, it’s about each worker being happy with the service we provide. We’re now a 250M company in 7 short years.
Has it been a smooth road?
Funding, building leaders, maintaining a family culture, managing growth etc.

I’m most proud of my employees, they’re epic. Everyone loves coming into work and giving their all every day. We’re probably known for our innovation and crazy good customer service. We don’t have an automated phone system because everyone wants to speak to a human, not a machine. We also have some awesome technology!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
San Diego is wonderful. I can’t imagine why someone wouldn’t want to start a business here. You have wonderful people, culture, food, diversity and the weather.
Although CA law can be challenging to navigate, San Diego does make it easy to work and succeed here.
