Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Nnaji.
Sandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a child, I’ve always had a thing for the entertainment industry and part of that being my father was the Director of News and Current Affairs back in Nigeria so I was always at the TV station. But after coming to the states, and growing and of course, meeting people, I once again picked up the interest in the Entertainment industry and trust me it’s was a journey to get here.
I started off doing music promotion for friends which didn’t quite pan out well. So I switched to doing music management for the same friends. You know with friends you can give yourself any title and switch your position at will. But that opened the door for me to do other things. I was able to connect with the owner of a lounge and started working there as the marketing and promotions manager which went great for about two years. While working at the Lounge, I happen to connect with a young Lady that owns a popular online radio station who invited me to work with her. That was when and where I started crafting myself into a Publicist.
I went ahead back to school to become certified as a PR because, for the first time, I found my nitch. Once my contract was over with the radio station, I decided to start my own company called Just1PR and I’ve never looked back since then. My business started expanding and I was getting emails from potential clients based on the work that people saw I did while working for the radio station. Today I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many different award winning brands, influencers, Professional Athletes and musicians.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It honestly has been not a smooth road, nothing is ever a smooth road quite frankly when it comes to starting or owning a business. Of course, you will have some struggle connecting with others, networking, and even building your brand, but once you pass over that hurdle, it becomes way smoother than expected.
Please tell us about your business.
Well, Just1PR is an independent Public Relations agency. We specialize in Public Image Branding, Social Media Management, Event Planning, Brand Consulting, Media placements, Business consulting, etc. Pretty much all that has to do with Public Relations, we offer. We pretty much don’t have a ” one specific” thing we are known for because every client we’ve worked with all have DIFFERENT needs and we are lucky enough to offer and carter to each needs individually.
We are very proud of everything we’ve accomplished so far, from managing red carpets for an award show, to have one of the most sorts after award winning blogger and Former NCAA championship player on our roster, to working with some of the most talented musicians, amazing PR ladies and connecting with so many people. We are proud of ourselves thus far.
I believe our unique approach sets us apart for sure. we are very hands-on with every client, we deliver the results each client are looking for or with any project we work on. We guarantee you will be satisfied with the results.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Proudest moment, of course, is Launching of my business, followed by the amazing journey it’s taken me through. But all in all, starting my business was one of my proudest moments.
