Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Page. Sandra was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Crystal Carr.
Sandra, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
My husband and I moved from the East Coast to San Diego in 2009. We always knew we were meant to live in California, and after we visited San Diego it was hard to consider anywhere else! He started his career in marketing, and I worked in Training and Development for a few years before he started his own business. After I had my twin girls, Lacey and Mackenzie, I was lucky enough to be able spend my time at home with them. I quickly found that I was not going to be good at the “staying at home” part of being a stay at home mom! We were in classes, exploring beaches and parks, restaurants and yes, breweries – anything San Diego had to offer that was family friendly. I wanted to start sharing what I found with others because I knew how hard it was to find myself. I began playing around with the idea of a blog or trying to focus my instagram page to more of a resource for San Diego parents, and finally started focusing on it in early 2020.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I spend my days exploring all that San Diego has to offer for families. Restaurants, breweries, parks, playgrounds, and everything in between! I try to share not only the obvious spots for families in San Diego, like the Zoo – but find the smaller family focused businesses that could really use help spreading the word. Smaller, local families who have unique experiences for families to explore.
As you know, we’re big fans of Crystal Carr and Crystella Photography we know you’ve worked with her quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with Crystal Carr.
One of the things that continually stopped me from focusing on my blog and Instagram was the lack of great photos that really captured me and my girls exploring the town. It’s easy to take photos of them – but it was impossible to get photos of US! I met Crystal and that all changed – I did a small mini session for mothers day with her, in 2019, and I felt so comfortable with her and was completely in love with the photos she captured of me and my girls, that I emailed her right away. I asked her to help me with photography for my blog and Instagram page and since then I think we’ve done over 20 shoots together! She has a way of making you feel comfortable, so you easily fall into the scene of your photos without stress or anxiety. She is professional but also makes you feel like you’ve been friends for years.
Her photography has been the catalyst that has taken my brand to the next level. Without it, I do not think I would have grown as quickly as I have, and it certainly wouldn’t have been as fun! Having her photos to use gives my brand the consistency and professionalism that it needs, but also brings out the casual and candid nature of our explorations. One of the things that sets me apart, I believe, is having Crystal on my team.
