Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Cazares.
Sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hi, my name is Sarah and I was born and raised in San Diego County. I’ve lived in California all of my life and don’t have any plans on leaving this beautiful sunshine behind. I’ve been married for 17 years and have two girls that are in high school. I started photography as a hobby around 2010 but eventually left my office job to pursue photography as a business in the summer of 2013. I was looking to have more flexibility in my working schedule so that I would be available for my family and that is how it all started. Six years later, I continue to learn and grow as a photographer and business owner and am grateful to work in what I love doing.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think that every business will have their struggles and challenges but it is a way to learn along the way. One of my challenges has been staying on schedule while working from home. Since I work for myself and from home, I didn’t have a clear schedule to go by but I have learned to set boundaries and be more organized on prioritizing my work life from my personal life.
Sarah Cazares photos – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company name is Sarah Cazares photos and I specialize in lifestyle photography and portraits. I serve San Diego County and surrounding cities and enjoy using our local parks & beaches as our backdrop. Candid shots are my favorite because you can just see the love & fun that can go on in between shots. I’m proud to say that most of my clients always tell me that they had so much fun during the session. One of my goals is to make them feel relaxed and have a good time during a session.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is being able to do what I enjoy on a daily basis and continue to learn at the same time. I believe that there is always room for improvement and if we keep our minds open, we can learn from many around us. I hope to also be an inspiration to others and teach what I have learned throughout the years as well. Being able to give from what I have received is one of my goals this year.
