Meet Sean Cavanaugh of Full Attention Movement and Bodywork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Cavanaugh.

Sean Cavanaugh

Sean, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve had multiple careers both in and out of the office. It’s given me the perspective to see the massage industry as a way to give to the community while also making a living. The opportunity to enter the massage industry has been very rewarding. After working in the industry for over 12 years, I’ve massaged in every type of location possible. But here in San Diego, I’ve managed to put all that together to build this small shop. Massage is a peaceful job and giving to the community.

I’ve spent much of my free time over the years learning many experiences in movement. I’ve studied Kenpo Karate, Chao Lay Fut Kung Fu, Salsa, Tango, modern dance, bicycling, and yoga. That, combined with a scientific mind, makes me particularly able to empathize with a wide array of clients’ goals.

I use all this together to make sure that the business runs smoothly at all times; the client’s experience starts from the car door and ends at their car door. Therapists that work here are well trained and valued at all times, for without the massage therapists’ work Full Attention wouldn’t exist.

The long-term goal for Full Attention is to grow over the years while always offering the best quality deep tissue in the greater San Diego.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Navigating the pandemic has been the biggest struggle. First having to close the shop for a year was tough to say the least. But handling the new normal has been very unique.

Here at Full Attention, the therapists and the clients wear face masks the entire massage. We take client and therapist safety very seriously here. The rooms have several fans. We disinfect with rubbing alcohol.

I’ve had to change the businesses entire advertising strategy to emphasize the continuing masking policy.

It’s finally become an asset, and the customers we have consider it valuable. Now full masking is a niche service.

In the long run, I feel it’s worth it. For me, it’s a way to be an aid to the community.

As you know, we’re big fans of Full Attention Movement and Bodywork LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Full Attention offers focused deep-tissue massage. What that means is that the therapists are all certified and trained in several modalities and advanced anatomy. Each client is given different treatment based on their individual needs. Our focus is to get you fixed. We like helping clients reach their goals and get them back to whatever they want to be doing with their life.

The scientific name for Full Attention style is called myofacial/neuromuscular therapy with a combination of Swedish and joint mobilization in accordance with the client’s breathing and muscle needs.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We are continuing to grow, offering 7 days of massage availability and growing all the time.

Facials are new to Full Attention! Our Esthetician, Kely, has been in the industry for over 13 years, and it will bring a further element to the business.
