Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Benhaim.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Seth. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
My story all began in a garage. In 2012, at the age of 24, I had made up my mind about what I was passionate about. I had decided the world was in desperate need of an authentic vodka – one that would offer a natural and simple process that anyone could understand. After experiencing the magic of a truly hand-made infused spirit while on vacation, I realized that such a product was nowhere to be found. So naturally, I had to be the one to create it.
About one year and a few hundred samples later, I launched Infuse Spirits. Just three months after launching, Infuse Spirits’ vodka won Best-in-Show and Double-Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This competition is like the Olympics of spirits competitions. To this day, I was at the time the youngest brand owner to ever win such an award. Also one of the youngest companies too.
Today, Infuse is distributed in 35 states, over 4,000 retail, bar and restaurant locations, and is available at Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Total Wine near and around San Diego. There is such great passion for Infuse Spirits. Our team works tirelessly to ensure every bottle of Infuse Spirits is balanced, smooth, and bursting with character and flavor. I love sharing my passion for great spirits with everyone I meet.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think anyone saying business is a smooth road has either not been in business long enough, or is lying. Real business is always complex, challenging, stressful, and requires a tremendous amount of hard work from multiple people.
When growing a company as quickly and as large as we have, there are inevitably going to be issues with cash, employees, other businesses, and things you cannot plan or prepare for. But, with a strong vision, and an unwavering goal to grow our brand, we have been able to overcome most of these challenges without too many battle scars.
Infuse Spirits – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Infuse Spirits is a specialty spirits and bitters company. We craft handmade vodkas and bitters that are single-bottle infusions, meaning the ingredients that flavor each bottle are steeped inside every bottle, done one bottle at a time. Our whiskey is infused with three kinds of oak staves – the wooden walls of a whiskey and wine barrels.
We are proud that we offer a beautiful, delicious line of spirits people can afford, enjoy, and share with friends. The fact we do something hardly any other brands can claim to do makes us unique, and you can truly taste the difference between Infuse and other “flavored” vodkas.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is the combination of being good at something, enjoying it, and being recognized for the skill, effort, and energy one puts into whatever that may be.
For me, I personally look at how people respond and react to the brand. We love releasing new ideas constantly, so feedback on new products are great ways to see how successful we were in innovating and creating. Success in business for me is being profitable and able to maintain a healthy growth each year.
