Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Wittmayer.
Sharon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Did you ever notice that the way we imagine things to go, often doesn’t? Sometimes our worst fears come to pass and we are left wondering what we could have done differently. It never dawned on me that bad things happen to good people; until I experienced it! Like many, I’ve had my share of challenges. But those same challenges have taught me to enjoy and embrace all the beauty in life too! In fact, I can look back and say that it was the hard times that grew me into the woman I was meant to be.
During one of my greatest challenges in life, I realized I needed to look at different occupations. I was in a very rewarding job that I loved but wasn’t earning enough to pay the bills. The bottom line was, I needed to earn more income. My best friend worked for a large real estate and home loan company and would share stories with me. I remember thinking what a high-stress job she had. But she loved it and it was easy to see that her hard work and love for her clients really paid off. She suggested I look into the real estate industry.
There was an opening in her office for the front desk and she arranged for me to have an interview. The starting pay was far more than I was making at the veterinarian hospital and before I knew it I was sitting at the front desk of this large real estate & home loan company that had approximately 250 agents. It was a change but I was used to hard work and a fast pace. If you want to know something, ask those who are great at what they do. There will be some who are willing to teach and I will forever be grateful to them. I was fortunate enough to have people around me that were willing to help me learn.
I remember a few of my favorite agents allowed me to shadow them and they were great at training me on both real estate transactions and home loans. This opened my eyes to see the endless potential that I had not ever considered. I believe God really does open doors when we need a change. We, however, have to walk through those open doors. I made a decision to walk through the real estate doors and to get licensed so that I could become a Realtor too! I love learning and I guess I never stopped taking classes even after I had the certification that I needed.
I continued on and eventually became a Broker. It has been a great industry and I have worked hard to establish great relationships with everyone. I rely on the referrals of others, past clients, friends, seasoned loan officers and other real estate agents. We work together to make every transaction win-win for all parties. I have found that those who place their clients well being ahead of their own are the business people who can make it in their chosen field. I found that the love of learning has helped too! The market is constantly changing and we need to stay up to date on trends.
But above all, I really believe in serve others. I love meeting with potential clients and hearing their story. I listened carefully to their situations and their desires, goals and needs. I ask questions and pay close attention. This has proven to be a great work model for me.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think the hardest thing that any professional comes across is the opportunity to prove themselves. They can have all the knowledge that they need and they can have a heart of gold but until they find a client to prove themselves with, it’s tough to show the world your value and worth. My solution was to work a bunch of open houses for free and I made an appeal to just about everyone I knew! (Don’t let pride get in the way!
We all need each other, but if we don’t ask for business, we won’t get it.) I looked for opportunities everywhere to serve with my real estate knowledge and to help anyone who wanted to own a home. As time went on, I was able to prove myself, my values and my skills and more clients came my way. When we do good to our clients, word gets out! Don’t be afraid to work hard; more opportunities and experiences will open up through it. I have a real estate business today that is just right for me.
Over the years as success came, others would ask me how to get into the industry. They see where I am today and want to step in at this level. I encourage them to just take the courses and get their license. I suggest they start at a very large company as they are tooled with far more opportunities to train new agents. Start at the bottom, and work hard and smart.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am the owner of Integrity Real Estate & Home Loans. I specialize in the buying and selling process of the residential real estate in my community. My clients know that I am here to serve their needs. Some are first time home buyers, some are well-seasoned buyers and sellers. Some are at the top of their game and need a great place to invest their money. For them, I need to make sure that this celebration of homeownership is going to be a great investment for them now and into their future.
Others are in a financial or relational struggle and the selling of their home is quite painful. I am here to help navigate them through the emotions as well as their transaction. One of my favorite things is to meet the client right where they are in life. I want them to feel confident with me and to know that I will listen and help them meet those goals. I love to get to know my buyers and sellers as individuals and to focus on THEIR needs in regards to real estate.
For a buyer, my primary job is to get them the best home we can within the price range that they desire. For a seller, my number one priority is to get them the maximum profit on their home. My desire to educate the buyer and seller sets me apart. I want my clients to understand every aspect of the buying and selling process. I want them to be confident and to know they have choices. Understanding gives my clients power and knowledge helps them to meet their long terms goals. It’s all about them!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was definitely talkative. I loved spending time with family and friends mostly outdoors!

Sharon Wittmeyer helped me sell my home and it was definitely the best experience I’ve ever had in selling any of my properties . Sharon went well beyond the call of duty when it came to difficulties that arose during the sale of my home. She is very kind and thoughtful every step of the way to both the seller and the buyer , yet professionaly aggressive and diligent where needed. Sharon Wittmayer at Integrity Real Estate is highly recommended to everyone I know!
