Meet Siham Jamai of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siham Jamai.

Hi Siham, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey began during a difficult chapter in my life when I was diagnosed with chronic illnesses. Instead of letting it stop me, I turned my pain into creativity and healing. Perfume became my therapy — a way to express my emotions, spirituality, and love for beauty through scent.

That’s how Dar Jamai was born — a brand inspired by Arabic oil perfumes and the art of handmade luxury. Every blend I create carries a story of strength, faith, and transformation. My goal is to remind others that even in hardship, we can build something beautiful and meaningful when we lead with heart and purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Living with chronic illness while building a business has been one of my biggest challenges. There were days when I was in pain, exhausted, or unsure how to keep going — but my faith and passion kept me strong.

Through it all, my husband has been incredibly supportive, encouraging me mentally and emotionally to never give up. Every obstacle became a lesson in patience, creativity, and resilience. Those challenges shaped who I am today and made Dar Jamai what it is — a brand built with heart, strength, and purpose.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the founder of Dar Jamai with 18 years of experience , I create handcrafted Arabic oil perfumes inspired by culture, emotion, and energy. I personally source each oil and design every perfume bottle, from the scent composition to the visual presentation. My work blends traditional Arabic perfumery with modern artistic design — every bottle tells a story.

What sets me apart is the soul I pour into each creation. My perfumes are not mass-produced; they are handmade with intention, spirituality, and love. I’m proud that my work connects people to beauty, energy, and meaning through the power of scent.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Taking the risk to bring my brand into the American market was one of the biggest decisions of my life. I always dreamed of sharing Arabic oil perfumes here, and I started small — at local farmers markets. From the very beginning, I received so much love and support from customers, market managers, and owners of the markets who believed in my vision. It was a completely new concept for many people, and I’m proud that Dar Jamai became the first company to create its own unique Arabic oil blends and introduce them to the community. We are now focused on growing, hiring more employees, and expanding into wholesale to bring our perfumes to boutiques and stores across the U.S.
