Meet Skye Susalla of SkyeLifeSailFree in Carlsbald

Today we’d like to introduce you to Skye Susalla.

Skye, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was lucky enough, growing up in a very active sports family first in the desert at Thunderbird, then he co-founded Indian Wells. It was a normal day for my brother and I to be playing at Baseball Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner and Wimbledon Champ Nancy Chaffee-Kiner’s Home at Thunderbird with their kids, or going to Dezi And Lucy Arnez home for a kids birthday party. My father was a very well known Golf Professional who not only invented the first golf cart when he was a young pro at Thunderbird Country Club, as well as being the first person to put a club’s logo on hats and shirts in the 1950’s way before any other sports manufacturers.

We had left the desert for the beach where my love Grew exponentially for the ocean and all that was in it. Seeing how I played, lived and breathed sports, it seemed only natural for me to become a Sports Photographer which eventually took me to Australia, where I became the Photog for World Series Cricket. I put my career on hold to raise my Aussie Sons, Brett and Scotte. The very best decision I ever made. So, now decades later, I find myself once again with Camera in hand sailing with my guy Joe, our friends and family while I Sail And blog as my journey Part Two continues. #SkyeLifeSailFree. #Active&Ageless

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth would be boring, I strongly believe that God puts speed bumps of all shapes and sizes in our path so we may grow to become better people. Looking ahead is filled with excitement And enthusiasm to see many sunrises And sunsets with Joe as we sail through our journey as a couple who love our families and our life on the open seas. #4Ocean #SurfriderFoundation

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I would hope that many others who share the love of the sea will continue to spread the word to keep our Oceans Free. #FreeofPlastic #FreeofTrash My sailblog is personal. It reflects the beauty that surrounds us all. If one photo brings a smile to even one person’s face who may be having a lousy day at work, then that makes what I do, very rewarding!
