Thanks for sharing your story with us Stephen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been intrigued by how people connect through these crazy things we call the internet and social media. It’s really fascinating to see how these tools have revolutionized the way in which ordinary individuals and businesses are able to communicate with the rest of the world. The internet and social media bring people together and help form relationships.
Keeping this concept in mind, I wanted to build Paradeigm this foundation and ultimately make it place where creatives could thrive, do the things they love and impact the community and business sector in San Diego and around the world. Fast forward 3 years to today, Paradeigm is now an amazing team of 12 creatives, all from different backgrounds, skill sets, and talents. We’re unstoppable.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The first year and a half was a huge learning curve. I went from being a star senior interactive designer at Stone Brewing and later art director at the University of San Diego to then a very naive and new business owner. I had to quickly learn and adapt to what ‘profits and losses’ meant, learn the basics of accounts payable/receivable, and more importantly, develop techniques for how to sell/pitch/manage/hire on my own. I knew that I had to go ‘all in’ for Paradeigm to be successful. Once I realized it’s my vision to make Paradeigm the top marketing agency in the United States, things began to turn around for the better. I can confidently say, ‘We’re now on that path.’

We listen to people’s stories and share their truth. We have a way of capturing ‘real moments’ almost documentary style in a high-quality, luxury manner. The truth behind our storytelling methods really resonates with people. It’s new, fresh, and something we’ve built from scratch without any outside help.
You could call us a full-service marketing agency but with a more unconventional business model. We don’t charge by the hour for our services. We create a list marketing & branding services our partners really need and scale our team around them for the long term. We keep it simple: When you grow, we grow!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m excited to continue growing the team, bringing in more revenue for our partners & ourselves and eventually building our own campus. I’m excited about continuing to create a workspace where creatives can thrive. Some might call me a big dreamer, but as Paradeigm gets older each year, I see this vision coming to life.
There are 12 talented creatives in a room together, which make up a balanced team of dreamers and doers that make great things happen. When I sit down each week with the full team in one place, it makes me realize that anything is possible… Long live the creatives!
