Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Seuss.
Taylor, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
From a young age, I have always been obsessed with all things fashion. I loved dressing up, having “fashion shows”, and styling my friends. Upon graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (June 2018), I decided that it was time to fulfill my lifelong dream and launch an Online Women’s Clothing Boutique.
I had very little knowledge of what exactly reaching this goal would entail, or the process of doing so – but I went for it. The thought of waking up every day and doing what I loved was so exhilarating to me. Once I set my mind to it, there was no going back. In October of 2018, I launched Haute Fox Boutique’s online store. Since then, I have bonded with amazing customers, networked with brilliant business women, and attended incredible pop-up events.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In all honesty, I had no business plan, so technically there wasn’t anything that didn’t go ‘accordingly’, however launching Haute Fox Boutique was a huge learning curve for me. For the first time, I had to build a brand, manage social media accounts, and communicate with vendors. The boutique industry is a very saturated and competitive market.
My biggest struggle was making sure that I was building a brand that I could be proud of, and reflected my own personal style. It is so easy to conform to society, and do what is “popular”, however, it was important to me that I stayed true to my brand. Thankfully, I have an amazing family who never hesitated to give me advice when I asked for it, or offered to lend a hand when I needed it. They have been the best support group, and I couldn’t have started this business without them.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Haute Fox Boutique – what should we know?
Haute Fox Boutique is best described as edgy & effortless. Each individual piece is hand-selected by myself to ensure that it reflects my own personal style. We aim to provide versatile items for the girl-on-the-go, that can be dressed up or dressed down!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success means creating a business that brings women together. My goal is to sell women’s confidence, not clothes. At the end of the day, if I have made a woman feel good about herself that is a success to me!
