Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Vo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Teresa. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I got my real estate license summer of my freshman year in college. I came home for the summer and my mom, whose 2nd language is English, was having a difficult time studying for the real estate exam. She asked me to help, and I figured if I was studying the material I might as well take the test. I did, and I passed, and that was my start in real estate! 17 years later… I have my own boutique brokerage and have been active in real estate as an agent, broker, advisor, investor, and consultant.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all (2008, specifically). But it hasn’t been without its rewards either. I think it’s the struggles that lead to successes. Every difficulty has made me a better broker or person; a better me.

As the broker of VO Properties, I specialize in investment real estate and work with a range of investors from flippers, buy and hold, mom and pop, first-time investors that exchange up or own multiple homes, investments or units. I firmly believe in the American Dream. I am a product of it.
I believe everyone is entitle to home ownership. Asides from just buying your own home, real estate is an investment vehicle, an asset, a legacy. One of the beautiful things about real estate is there are many ways you can do it, be involved in it, invest in it.
What were you like growing up?
I was extremely shy and to this day have to continue to work at pushing past my comfort zone and challenging my personal boundaries (personally and professionally).
