Today we’d like to introduce you to The Reflectors.
The Reflectors have been around the San Diego music scene since the early 1980s, and they pride themselves on their strong vocals and musicianship, delivering as accurate a “reflection” of the original classic rock songs that they play as possible. They are a seasoned, six-piece group of professional musicians, consisting of lead & rhythm guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and lead/harmony vocals.
Bobby Blesser (lead guitar, vocals) formed The Reflectors back in 1983 with vocalist/keyboardist Kurt White, after playing with several San Diego area bands such as The Neat and Seraphim. After many iterations, the group has evolved, enduring several personnel changes.
Patie Topacio (lead & background vocals, percussion) joined the group in 1992, after previously playing with 9 different all-girl bands, including Ready Or Not, Some Girls, and Kitten With A Whip. A few years later, frontman Shawn Olsen began commanding the stage with his strong wide-ranging lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
Drummer Jimmy Brennecke, a long-time classic rock veteran with bands Tin Fish, Vintage and Last Call from the Riverside CA area, drives the band with his solid beats and backing vocals. Keyboardist & vocalist Bruce (Sky) Walker, fills in the gaps with keys, sax, flute and other awesome effects, and bassist Jason Bennett, who joined the group in 2013, adds the required rock-solid bottom edge to The Reflectors sound,
