Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Stanley.
Hi Thomas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in San Diego and lived in Vista my whole life. I first started photography when I was at Palomar College in 2010 learning photoshop mixing levels and settings on landscape photos. there after I first started going to Cal State San Marcos in 2017, I was in an introduction to photography where I had to buy my own equipment and started taking photos for the first time and it evolve from taking landscape wildlife photography to taking portraits. Then I started my photography page as a hobby at first but when people started to noticed my work and appreciated it, I thought to myself what if I can try to make a living out of taking photos
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a challenge at first because started at a bad time when the covid pandemic came in, no one at first wanted to take photos and I had to readjust my approach on marketing myself as a photographer. Other people didn’t know who I was and always get looked over and don’t want to do a shoot so it was a difficult time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I first started doing landscape and object photos using basic camera settings and evolve to taking portraits. Always like to emphasize the person on their traits and features rather if it’s a simple portrait to doing boudoir photos. I always like going into Lightroom in most of editing going in and making slight adjustments with the levels and color correction if not use a what I like to call a color emphasis.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Always like meeting new and passionate people to explore new ideas and make awesome photos.
