Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiarsha Tiffany.
Hi Tiarsha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my podcast TeaWithT during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Towards the end of March 2020 the company that I was working for at the time decided to end my temp assignment early. My part time job I had at the time closed all their retail stores world wide so, all of a sudden I had nothing but time on my hands. After praying regarding what my next steps in life would be, God reminded me of the podcast idea he put on my heart in 2019.
April of 2020, I decided that this would be the year I launched my podcast. I began by doing intensive work regarding how to start a podcast, who I wanted to be a part of my team, and how I planned to execute the podcast. On July 2, 2020, I released my first podcast episode. Since the release of my first podcast episode I have now had two seasons, countless guest speakers, been featured in articles, and have grown both personally and professionally in my life.
In January of 2021, my team and I held our first community service event using my podcast name to serve the homeless community of San Diego. We created care packages and provided them with food as well. I’m very proud and excited of the growth my podcast has experienced thus far and I can’t wait to see how it will continue to evolve in 2022.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting my podcast was the easy part but maintaining the podcast is where the bumpy road lied ahead. When I first began I had team ranging from a social media adviser, graphic designer, editor and various other consultants. During the midst of season one I began to realize the importance of learning how to do the work that I was currently employing others to do. I realized that when building a team it is important to know the ins and out of the work of the people you employ.
Furthermore, during season two, I took on the role of doing my social media and graphics and I learned first hand the amount of work and the intricacy of details that goes into those two fields. I had to juggle having a full time job Monday-Friday and also working full time for my podcast as well. My weekends slowly turned into catching up on my podcast work and preparing for the week ahead. Finding the balance between working a full time job and building a business is not easy, but when you constantly remind yourself of your “WHY” it allows you to push and motivate yourself on days you feel like giving up.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about TeaWithT Podcast?
I am the host of a podcast called TeaWithT. My podcast has a wide array of topics ranging from financial advice, marital advice, business advice, self love, life tips and more. My podcast main focus is to bring awareness to topics that people my age or younger don’t often discuss. When discussing different topics I ask my guest questions that myself and others maybe curious to know and we always end with giving advice on how listeners can implement the information that was shared.
I believe what sets my podcast apart is the information we discuss and the vulnerability both myself and guest share. There is no topic that we ever shy away from. I have had a reform prisoner, millionaire, and even talks about both politics and religion on the podcast. Another thing that sets my podcast apart is the audience involvement. I always like to do polls with my audience to gauge topics they want to hear or advice on how the podcast can improve. I am very aware of the audience and community I serve which is why I frequently ask for feedback.
Brand wise, I am proud that my podcast represents who Tiarsha Tiffany is. I am happy to know that I never had to change who I am or try to be someone that I’m not to gain an audience. TeaWithT is a community for people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs. The goal of my podcast is to create a community to remind people that they are never alone in any of life’s obstacles.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Ethics and morals matter most to be in this world. You can tell a lot about a person’s character based on their morals and ethics. My friends will tell you that I am someone that will always do whats right even if its not the popular idea. I once had a former boss tell me that I’m too honest, I laughed and told him that I rather be known as someone who is honest than someone who is not.
In life, they say first impressions are the ones that matter most, which is why I always strive to present my authentic self no matter the situation or the environment. In starting a business I believe it is important to be involved with someone who shares the same ethics and morals as you so that later down the road there are no issues or disputes. When doing business I always keep this in the back of my mind. A persons talent maybe what attracts me to them at first, but their morals and ethics are either what keeps me or what causes me to walk away when doing business.
