Meet Tony Godinez of Strictly Plumbers in Chula Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Godinez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started when I was 19yrs old, I had 2 jobs at Plaza Bonita. The only reason I had 2 jobs was because I wanted to make a lot of money, no kids, no wife, living at mom’s house simply wanting more out of life. I decided to ask my Uncle Hector for a job at Bill Howe Plumbing. I started as an apprentice, learned about basic plumbing and drains, I ended up going to school for HVAC got HVAC Certified. BUT shortly after that, I was laid off with 25 people in 2008 when the market crashed.

I was pretty bummed out because I stayed out of trouble and I never even got written up once. I didn’t understand WHY ME.

Bill Howe told me “you’re young, no family to support and with your skills, outlook on life and drive you will land on your feet Tony”. That was Monday Feb 28th 2008. By Monday, 2 Days later, I was in Los Angeles looking for a job in a new city because I wanted change. By Friday I found a job that changed my life. I was hired with Newton Plumbing near Venice Beach in West LA.

I was so hungry for success that ran EXTRA CALLS, my 1st month I made $9k. At that point, I never made so much money in 1 month. I felt like the shackles were broken and I spread my wings, doing WHAT EVER IT TAKES. I developed a sales skill that helped me win over people and influence others. That was the 1st time I ever made 6 figures as a plumber.

The next 4 years in LA became a dream come true for a young man with no wife or kids making 6 figures, I mastered the Art of Plumbing and Sales.

In 2011 my 10yr high school reunion came around, I met the 1 girl from high school that I thought was one of the most gorgeous women in the world but I was way too shy in high school and she never even knew I existed back then. lol.

I even remembered her name VIVIANA CASTILLO. I thought to myself, IM READY TO MEET THE WOMAN OF MY DREAMS. When I introduced myself, she didn’t have a clue of who I was and thought I was a guest. lol. We hit it off and almost instantly fell in love. We met November of 2011.

By 2012, I decided to come back to my Hometown San Diego as a new man with new skills that were life changing. (I was chasing the woman of my dreams.) I got a job as a plumber with ARS/Reacue Rooter. Viviana soon became my Fiancé and had our 1st daughter Evelyn Gisell Godinez. I now had MORE DRIVE for work.

I supercharged myself by educating myself even more with Plumbing and High Ticket Sales. Month #2 of working at my new job I was #1 Plumber Because Of my Plumbing and Sales Skills reaching $55k.. I made a huge splash as a plumber and I got a promotion to Salesman. Month 1 I did better than the #1 salesman that had 22yrs of working with the company. I instantly became top 10 in the Nation for this huge plumbing corporation ARS/Rescue Rooter. Generating $95-$125k per month EVERY MONTH.

Soon I got another promotion to be a Trainer. I helped a lot of plumbers increase plumbing and sales skills. I made an even bigger splash and got another promotion as Lead Trainer. I managed the training department, Fine tunes the company to go from $700k to $1Million in Sales. My big splash turned into a tsunami and I was asked to lead 6 plumbing shops from LA to SD. I couldn’t believe it. I had the woman of my dreams with the “Job” of my dreams. But there was still something inside of me that wasn’t fulfilled.

I WANTED MY OWN BUSINESS. I discovered a passion within me for Marketing and it drove me more than anything I’ve ever experienced. As I had my job, I was studying Marketing and I was obsessed with it, it was even hard to sleep because I was so excited to learn more.

In 2016, I hurt my left knee and I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t plumb! A part of me was bummed out and another part of me was telling ITS TIME TONY. I took a leap of faith and started a Marketing Company in San Diego. I had more drive than EVER BEFORE. I had even more trouble sleeping because I was SO EXCITED about building my business. Not only did I Master the Art of Marketing, I became an influencer,

Now, I own Strictly Plumbers, Exclusively Specializing In helping Plumbing businesses grow with online Marketing and High Ticket Sales Coaching. I’m known for helping plumbing companies make way more money than what they’re used to. I am most proud of a 2-step process that I’ve created that helps plumbing company when it comes to sales. It involves online marketing services such as Google PPC and Facebook advertising along with high ticket sales coaching. One hand washes the other, and it’s very powerful.

What set my company aside from every other marketing agency is that I was a plumber for 15 years and I understand how a plumbing business operates on a daily basis from A to Z. Plumbing contractors trust me because of that.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love the most about San Diego is number one, the weather, number two, the people, and number three, my family lives in San Diego. San Diego is a beautiful city and I love the nautical life. There are amazing restaurants and filled with culture.

I am proud to be native to America’s finest city, San Diego California. I dislike the homeless situation, I’ve tried to do something about it, didn’t get very far.
