Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Argumedo.
Cynthia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ok, so I got started in the beauty industry fresh out of high school. During the school years, I would always do my friends hair and makeup. I was the go-to girl for all things beauty. After graduating high school, I attended Paul Mitchell The School Temecula. Best choice I’ve ever made. I assisted in a salon for about a year and a half then I decided it was time for me to go on my own. I wanted something new and fresh, so I decided to go to a new city, Carlsbad. I knew I wanted to specialize in styling/ makeup so I went to a blow out bar learned my speed new techniques. Two years in I met Michelle, she talked to me about Mane Bar an extension bar/blow out bar. One year down with Mane Bar and it’s going better than ever, learning so much about extensions and running a business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. There are the ups and down. Some of the struggles along the way for me were stepping out of my comfort zone, and having patience.
Advice I have for young women just starting their journey is don’t compare yourself to other stylists, focus on your journey, assist in a salon where they will actually teach you and help you grow. Be willing to work long hours and long weekends. Don’t get caught up on what you see on Instagram. Be original, true to yourself, humble, and kind.

Most proud of how far I’ve come even though I’m not where I want to be Im glad I haven’t given up. Every day is a work in progress for me.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The most important piece of advice would be you are not for everyone so don’t stress about it. Don’t take anything too personal.
