Today we’d like to introduce you to Elodie Wells.
Elodie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2016, I dove headfirst into this journey with very little experience on how to create a business. My only focus and drive were to design feminine, charming & natural jewelry from all the ocean treasures for ocean lovers to look naturally beautiful!
I collected ocean treasures from around the world, making necklaces and bracelets, since my youngest age. With time, people I was offering them to started to ask me to make more. I knew it was time to consecrate my life to designing jewelry!
I invested all the money I had. Little by little in buying material, taking jewelry courses, such as silversmithing, and studying all about
the pearl history to become a certified pearl specialist. Now that I had the foundation to pursue my passion, I launched my first line… I was focused on online markets and heard crickets for about two seasons. I wasn’t making money. My family and friends were not taking this passion as a reasonable decision, but nothing could’ve stopped me at this point!
Luckily, my boyfriend was there to support me every step of the way. I really appreciate him for believing in me! He is my husband now! I accessed a few local art shows and suddenly, everything turned around. People’s reactions were amazing. I was selling out at every show!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building a business isn’t as easy… Luckily, these days the internet is an amazing source of data. Online courses are a good thing. There are many groups of women entrepreneurs that are wonderful. The creative portion is the fun portion, but know that a large portion of your time needs to be dedicated to marketing and constantly improving, developing your business.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Absolutely! This question reaches me on a deeper level emotionally… Life experiences play a major role in who you are and how you handle struggles… My childhood influences me a lot in who I am today. Sports always helped through struggles. My faith for what I loved brought opportunities, amazing adventures and success. I self-created my dream life through passion when I was 18. I was delivered to my own very young, not by choice, but by necessity and my desire to pursue happiness.
Happiness has never had a price for me. When you truly want something, the whole world will conspire in helping you achieve it. This is something that I have anchored in my blood. I often tell people that if they really want to make their passion their journey, it will work!
