Meet Trailblazer Elsy Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elsy Garcia.

Elsy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I always loved experimenting with hairstyles, make up and even cutting bangs on my little cousins. LOL. As a little girl, I remember always doing my own hair. I loved everything beauty. In high school, there was an in intro to cosmetology class, I joined and loved it. I had that class after school my junior and senior year. From attending that class, I got a scholarship to beauty school. Super stocked, I went right after graduating high school got my licensed and have been doing/loving hair & beauty ever since.

I am so passionate in what I do and tend to be a perfectionist because I love to do hair how I would like mine done! I then got my license and worked at a few salons hourly. Although I knew my goal at the time was to be confident enough and booth rent at a salon. I then came across Alante Hair design and loved how they were such a family environment salon & committed to booth rent. I booth rented for two years met so many amazing people and loved my salon but I knew I wanted to have a feel of being a salon owner. In March of 2019, I took the leap and opened up my very first hair studio. With the help of pinterest and my family, my vision came to life. And couldn’t be happier. I have been a salon owner for almost a year and love it! I love what I do, love meeting all my clients and hanging out with all of you. There is so many more goals to achieve for the upcoming year and I am ready!! Also super happy and blessed where I am now and cannot stress this enough, it is all because of my clients!! <3

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Even though I have always loved beauty and liked what I do. It wasn’t so easy to stay focused/motivated. There will be days where you can feel burned out. My advice to someone that is starting is always be patient. As much as we would like to grow quickly, I would say patience is key. Also, being motivated is great but definitely there will be days you won’t have the same motivation and that’s when you have to be determined about your goals. Education is a must. You have to keep up with trends and new techniques. This also will keep you motivated and maintain your creativity within your business. Social media is big and a great network platform. DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF to insta famous hairdressers. (EVER) but you can look up to them for inspiration. I love to follow accounts that motivate me, and that educate. (hair related)

Also, last tip. NEVER half do a service. Meaning always give your all into your work!!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mane Bella hair studio – what should we know?
I specialize in Lightening services, and extension installs.

Balayage, babylights and babylage blends are my most scheduled appointments.

As well as color corrections!! My main goal is to give my clients what they want while also maintaining good hair health. I customized each client differently. NO cookie-cutter styles here! Sometimes sessions are needed and I love to make a game plan we are both happy within our consultation. I like to be real in what we can achieve. And my girls love that, so we both know what to expect and what can be done in our sessions.
