Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Peregrina.
Gabriela, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been part of the digital marketing game since the very early stages. I now utilize everything I’ve learned throughout the years, and work as a full-time marketing consultant, and guest content editor.
I started my blogging journey back in 2012 with a short-lived site that was made to capture my growth in the fashion industry, fast forward a few years later, I now run a resourceful site where I share lifestyle tips, the latest fashion trends, travels, the digital world, mental health—and my favorite part, the chronicles of outstanding creatives.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, that’s for sure…
Coming to the States from a different country was the first hurdle I faced, but I managed to learn the language and catch up to the corporate world.
My constant struggle has always been impostor syndrome. I now understand that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Any advice for other women, particularly young women who are just starting their journey?
My main advice to young women is once you find that thing that drives you, be relentless and work hard towards it. Don’t give up! Don’t listen to the voices around you and just do you. Intern and assist as much as you can. Even if the pay is not there in the beginning, the hustle WILL pay off.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take in a project that others might find challenging.
Also, remember to give yourself a break to avoid burnout.
We’d love to learn more about your work. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a brand, organization or service provider? What sets you apart from others?
I am currently a marketing consultant who mainly specializes in creating brand voices and developing digital audiences.
I also content create, wardrobe style, and produce events.
As previously mentioned, I run a site as well where I discuss subjects I am passionate about and share the chronicles of creatives that are killing it in their industry.
What makes me the proudest is being able to utilize my own platform to showcase the chronicles of fellow creatives and share their work to my audience.
What sets me apart from others is my eclectic style, collaborative forward mindset, work ethic, creative drive, bicultural lifestyle, and endless awe for an ever-changing environment.
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Women are well positioned for any opportunities they set their minds to, never underestimate us.
