Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Bath.
Holly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always loved decorating, flowers and all things pretty, lol. My mother recently passed away out of the blue amidst planning our wedding reception (we eloped); needless to say I was left broken and questioning life.. my life, the meaning… what was my passion. I was creating a floral arrangement in my kitchen with left over flowers and was flooded with all of the wonderful memories of my mother. We used to make arrangements together, and it was her dream to own a small boutique or flower shop together (to which previously I thought she was crazy and there was NO WAY I was going to work with her, LOL)… and that was it. It was the first time in months, I was happy… smiling and felt life back in my heart! Thus I began my floral company Intentional Blooms. It is my heart’s true passion and my connection with my mother and nature.
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think life is a smooth road, but it’s the bumps and struggles along the way shape who we are as individuals and in the community. It’s not always easy to see the silver lining, but if you can be kind and patient with yourself, it’ll present itself to you.
We’d love to hear more about Intentional Blooms.
I am an intentional florist with a love and passion for color. I love tying the meaning of colors to arrangements, centerpieces, and bouquets. I’m a florist for an adventurous and colorful bride, who thinks and/or lives outside the box. I love big florals, big bouquets, big arrangements and big colors! The flowers on your special day can be more than just an accent, instead, you can set the intention behind them and together we can create a very intimate and personal floral story!
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
I think the biggest barrier is decades of thinking differently… it’s shifting everyone’s, not just men, perspective on women in leadership. It’s women now supporting women instead of tearing each other down. It’s having supportive men in our lives, pushing us and helping us propel forward, even if it’s just that male friend in the group. It’s men and women taking women leaders seriously, which is happening now and it’s incredible, but change takes time… so, maybe that’s the hurdle.. time; the one thing that can’t be rushed.
