Today we’d like to introduce you to Jules Chase.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’d say my path to where I am now was a merging of two passions: wellness and the environment. I went to school for environmental studies and have a passion for the outdoors and living sustainably. About two years ago, I decided I was ready for a change (and sunshine) and picked up and moved cross-country from Boston to San Diego. It was during this time of major upheaval in my life that I decided to take my yoga teacher training. This was a really pivotal point for me. The move was an opportunity to start fresh and really challenged me to question and redefine who I was. This alongside my yoga teacher training challenged me to start to peel back those layers and dig into who I was at the core. It was a time of personal transformation and really when I started carving out my own path. I love to learn and came out of my yoga teaching training craving a deeper understanding, really looking for a way to communicate the yogic lifestyle beyond the mat. I furthered my education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I studied to become a holistic health coach.
Through my studies, the thread between environmental consciousness, yoga, and a holistic lifestyle was illuminated for me: awareness. Awareness of our bodies, our actions, our thoughts, our influence, our relationships. Every choice we make, whether it’s regarding the food we eat, how we interact with others, or how we are speaking to ourselves, has a ripple effect in our lives. I created Eat Flow Live as a platform to cultivate community, share what I was learning, and help others on their own journey to living healthier, more conscious lives.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not; but if it’s a smooth path you know it’s not your own. I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to really trust in yourself. To do this you first need to get clear on your purpose: what is the impact that you are trying to make? And then BELIEVE that you can do it. The power of the manifestation is incredible. When you start to put thought and intention behind where you want to go, who you want to be and what you want to achieve, everything will start to align for you. But it starts with YOU. You are your own best advocate. My best advice would be to get clear on where you want to be in 6 months, 1 year, and then 5 years (don’t limit yourself!) and then start to map out what the steps are to get there. Along the way, KNOW YOUR WORTH. It’s so easy to downplay the value you bring to the table. This has absolutely been a struggle for me, but the more you can show up knowing what you bring to the table, the more you will see that reflected back to you.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Eat Flow Live – what should we know?
Eat Flow Live is a space for me to connect with others, share my own wellness journey, and help others along their journey. I teach yoga in the San Diego area and am a certified health coach, helping busy women to re-prioritize themselves, their health, and their wellbeing. My focus is on conscious living, helping others to live in more love and awareness for their body, mind, and planet. Everything is connected, meaning when you start to make changes in your diet or mindset, you will reap the benefits in other areas of your life. What sets me apart from others is I am really looking at the whole picture, health is not just what you eat, it’s your relationships, your career, your spirituality, your fitness, and your interactions with the world.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
Oh gosh, so many. For apps, I love Insight Timer for guided meditations and the Reminders app to put in daily reminders towards my goals. For example, if I am trying to move more, it could be a reminder to get up and go for a walk, or if I am trying to be more mindful, a reminder to pause and journal on how I am feeling in that moment. For podcasts, I love Oprah’s Super Soul conversations. She’s currently doing a series with Eckhart Tolle that’s incredible. I also love RISE with Rachel Hollis, Mind Body Green, the Doctor’s Farmacy with Mark Hyman. These are mostly for those interested topics of self-development and nutrition. For resources, I love good, old fashioned paper books. I am currently reading “How Not to Die” and “Get Your Sh*T” together, which are more inspiring than they might sound. The resources I use are constantly shifting, but overall I think it’s important to know what information you’re seeking, and then look for diverse sources to provide it.
