Meet Trailblazer Kelsey Padigos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Padigos.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kelsey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Have you ever felt stuck in your life? There I was in the parking lot of “Restaurant Depot” sitting in my parked car not wanting to get out. I needed to do the inventory shopping for my three coffee shops. This was a mundane task that I learned to dread. It sucked the life out of me. I loved my coffee shops. I loved that I built them from nothing with my husband and operated them for the past seven years. At the same time, I resented them because I knew I was destined for more. I knew there was something inside of me, a gift perhaps, that I yearned to share with the world.

1 1/2 years ago from this moment, I lost my mother to cancer. I was eight months pregnant when I witnessed my mother taking her last breath. To see her transition from a state of suffering to one of peace was surreal, confusing, unexpectedly beautiful and beyond hard. She was supposed to meet my second baby. She was supposed to be in the hospital room with me. She knew she wasn’t going to be there, in the physical sense at least. My incredible optimism for her survival from this cancer just wasn’t enough. It was beyond my control and I had to learn to surrender and let it be.

Seven months after this, I lost both my Grandmother & Grandfather two days from each other. They were 90 and 92 and were married for 70 years. They had an incredible story and created an even more beautiful family full of creative talent. They inspired me in so many ways about living life joyfully, nurturing our hobbies, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

So there I was in the parking lot in Restaurant Depot. I felt lost, out of alignment, sad, and still grieving. A part of me was grieving a part of me that felt missing. I was listening to a podcast as I did everyday during my drive around town fulfilling inventory at all the shops. It was “Mommy Millionaire” by Cayla Craft and she was interviewing a business Hypnotist, Marshall Sylver. I was so intrigued by his charisma and certainty that I could feel through the speakers of my car. I became fascinated about brain re-programming, the sub-conscious mind and the idea that “thoughts are things.” I was hooked on every word of his interview. At the end of the interview he announced that he was giving away a free vacation to Vegas with tickets to his seminar to the first 12 listeners who entered to win.

My first thought was “hell ya I am doing that” and my next thought was, “I probably won’t get it. I never win anything.” I entered to win on the link he mentioned and to my surprise, I freaking won! I was so excited and scared at the same time. So many thoughts came to me like how am I going to pull this off? How can I leave the shops? How can I leave my family? I had this cycle of thought leading up to the week of the event. Five days vacation… do I really deserve that? I had to talk myself into it. I knew I was meant to go. Remember, I never won anything! I knew something big was going to happen. I NEEDED something big to happen.

Something big did indeed HAPPEN! The seminar was three days long. Each day Marshall Sylver put all of the guests under hypnosis. The second day was the day that changed my life. He took us through a visualization of our future selves. I saw my future house perfectly. It was by the ocean, modern, it was a dream and it felt so real. In this process, he asked a question I was not expecting, “what is your vocation?” My sub-conscious instantly answered back, “Hypnotherapist.” When we came out of hypnosis, I was stunned to what my subconscious had told me. It didn’t make sense to me. I was embarrassed to tell other people because there I was at Marshall Sylver’s event who is a Hypnotist and he is so beyond charismatic it felt intimidating, and I felt so far from being as confident as him.

The limiting beliefs came rushing in -“I don’t have the voice to be a hypnotherapist, who do I think I am?” But the more I thought about it the more it did make sense and it felt so right. A knowing inside of me knew that this was my course. When I returned home to San Diego, I began looking up schools to get certified in Hypnotherapy. I found the Motivational Institute of Hypnotherapy, run by Dr. Marla Brucker. I scheduled a meeting with her and instantly knew I was meant to be mentored by Marla. She reminded me of my Grandmother and her energy was just what I needed for this journey.

I began the “Clinical Hypnotherapy” program, a schedule of four courses with real-life practical work. What I did not realize was how much I was going to change. I became addicted to the work, it was magical, it was life-changing, and it was effective. I had the answers to life. The key to confidence and so “The Confidence Company” was born.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have felt in alignment with this journey the moment I committed to the decision of following through with becoming a Hypnotherapist. What I have come to appreciate are the struggles and shadows that I have faced in order to shed their impact on me. Sure, it wasn’t easy facing the shadows. However, its a lot braver and easier to face them in order to heal them. Hypnotherapy is all about re-programming the mind to become what you want. It is a brain hack that potentially offers immediate results. It allows you to eliminate the blocks that have been holding you back and preventing you from living your dream life.

My advice to women is to stop looking to the physical world for external validation. Everything you need is within you. You have all of the resources you need inside of you already. There is just stuff from your past experiences that have programmed you to play small. Begin looking inside. Real growth occurs when you start asking yourself the tough questions.

Please tell us about The Confidence Company.
I am a Hypnotherapist and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Practitioner. I specialize in helping female entrepreneurs eliminate mental blocks and unleash their Confidence from within. I am so proud of the transformations and breakthroughs that my clients have experienced. I am grateful for the powerful female clients that I attract who are on the edge of change and willing to do the work to finally have the massive change that they have craved. Each one of my clients is the bravest and most courageous women I have ever met.

My background as an entrepreneur in the restaurant industry has allowed me to grow a strong connection to other female entrepreneurs and understand the challenges that they can encounter. I know what is is like to work tirelessly to fulfill a dream. To lose hope yet constantly put on a strong act, to feel scared, to feel not good enough. To feel like its never going to happen for me, to feel lonely, and to constantly self-sabotage. But what I know now with every fiber of my being is that when we are deeply connected to who are, anything is possible.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Find a mentor that has everything you want. Lock arms with one person and commit. They may not always feel like your friend. They shouldn’t feel that way if you are actually transforming. Healing and growing can be hard. The mentor is there to keep you accountable to your growth.

I am a total introvert and for the majority of my life, I was convinced that I was “shy” because I was told I was when I was younger. The truth is is that I am not shy. I just get drained by other peoples’ energy and so I learned to protect mine. I love social situations. I just have to prep myself (by practicing self-care) to have high energy. Protecting my energy levels allows me to show up as my best self when networking with others. When I network with others, I listen. I want to hear about what is going on in the other person’s life and listen for how I can help them. It is my goal to help people first. Showing up as someone who has value is monumental and memorable. It is a great way to network as people naturally want to help you back in return. We can all add value to each other’s lives!
