Meet Trailblazer Kieyarra Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kieyarra Brown.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kieyarra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Key Exposure and I am the owner of Exposure Key Exclusives, a media platform used to uplift women and teach them to love themselves fully for who they truly are. My story is much like one of a butterfly, I had to go through the dirt to grow into what I am today. Art and photography began as an escape at first, something to help me get away from my daily troubles.

I started when I was five with creative kits you can get from wal- mart, and drawing on my walls, my mom wasn’t so fond of that one. I’m a military “brat” never liked that term, what’s so spoiled about having a parent you see for a month or two then gone for 6-12 months? I grew up in San Diego, a little military community, full of a lot of heartbreaking stories no one ever talks about. It went from cheaters, divorces, abuse, alcoholics, mental breaks, kidnappers, robberies, kids that would do anything to getaway.

Most people wouldn’t know about the troubles a military “brat” experiences. And most of the time what happens in the house stays in this house, but there was a kid code. It was like a pack, being in our own community made everyone close, even at school. Majority of us had to grow up quickly. I’ve had so many friends come and go, it became easy for me to make them. I was taught to be a good person because most of us just needed some love. To keep busy, I was always in sports, after school programs, camps, and pageants.

My parents bought my camera when I was 10, it wasn’t until I was 15 when I started to paint and take pictures. High School was complicated, I lost myself trying to be most popular, but it shaped me into the person I am today and I am proud of her. Strength is given it is built, life is a journey we are all meant to find our purpose. This is where the name Exposure Key came from, without the revelation of my identity that was concealed even if it was one likely to arouse disapproval, I wouldn’t be the lady boss I am today. Today I am an advocate for mental health, I make women feel confident in their skin, motivate, create, and vouch freedom to express and be heard. All stories deserve exposure.

Has it been a smooth road?
The journey has not been easy, but we were meant to encounter hardships in this life. The purpose of a hardship is to create growth within us by teaching us right from wrong. Some challenges I have faced would be lack of confidence, costumers, consistency and creating a media and social presence. We all have to go through it to get to it. Advice I would give my fellow Girl boss would be, go for it!

We all have to start somewhere your idea will flourish as long as you tend to it and are willing to grow take in the criticism, advice, and compliments. I held off so many of my greatest endeavors because I didn’t think they were good enough or they just weren’t ready, but if I would have removed that doubtful voice in my head, I would be further and you would too. You are capable and can obtain all you put your mind too, for far too long women were put in a box it’s time we reveal our true strengths and go after those dreams.

We’d love to hear more about Exposure Key Exclusives.
As the CEO of Exposure Key Exclusives, I plan events/mixers for entrepreneurs to gather and gain exposure in our community. The next event we will be having is March 20, 2020, from 10 am- 5 pm at the California Yacht Marina in Chula Vista. I am also a visionary, life coach, artist and photographer. What I am most proud of as a brand is we stand for self-expression, growth, and empowerment.

Exposure Key is a platform of many tools all about finding, creating and staying true to yourself and using what you are best at to open doors full of opportunities. What sets us apart is our business is focused on your empowerment. We want our clients to use us as the key to their dream, but a key doesn’t work without someone putting in effort to get somewhere.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I agree there’s a lot of problems women face in this generation that are talked about with no solutions to help uplift and turn the situation around. I believe a woman is well positioned for any opportunity she wants. There is no women’s place or man’s place in the workforce. She is strong, smart and just as if not more capable then anyone she is up against. As long as she has the skill set, I don’t understand why something as inevitable as the sex you are born as should allow you to be denied anything.
