Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Keller.
Lexi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started modeling at the end of 2017, the beginning of 2018. Interesting enough, as throughout most of my years, I never took many photos, including “selfies”. I was never one to wear a lot of make up either. IT wasn’t until I was told by an ex that I should wear more make up that I tried. So, I went to Sephora, dropped 100$ on makeup, got an Ipsy subscription and entered one of their contests for makeup. From that photo an agency hit me up, offering to take headshots. After that, photographers just began to hit me up.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the best piece of advice is: make sure the intent between model and photographer is clear, no MISUNDERSTANDING, know your boundaries, and never meet a photographer for the first time alone, or not in a public place.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Most of the modeling I do is wedding dresses,for makeup, or styled shoots set up by photographers, stylist, or myself. I go to shoots that are set up by the photographer or stylist. Or I will charge the photographer a flat rate for the time, and the number of outfits/styles. My favorite photographers are (Instagram) @freelancemediaguru and @hardened_studios_photography Stylist @citadel_penn.
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
The modeling opportunities for women are finally expanding now with the “love your body” movements. Women don’t have to be ashamed of their natural bodies. The little “curves” and folds caught in the photo are what make it real, authentic.
